Some on the right are having a difficult time accepting that a general in the US military could be a liberal. They think military is synonymous with conservative. Not surprising for people who believe that the flag and Constitution are republican icons.
Janine, I could not make sense of it either, but here is one possibility. McChystal wanted 40,000 troops sent in the increase last year and President Obama gave him 30,00 more troops instead. In every other way, they were in agreement, right? I think that he believed that since he did not get exactly what he asked for, the counter-insurgency’s trouble that is happening now is because he did not get exactly what he wanted. As with everything else, it is Obama’s fault.
