If you’re planning on attending the Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, please take note.
A group of prostitutes has decided to offer free sex to delegates taking part in UN Climate Change Conference (COP15) in protest against the city’s attempt to dissuade conference participants from visiting brothels.
The city council has contacted 160 hotels asking them not to arrange prostitutes for guests, reports Avisen.dk.
In collaboration with The Nest International – an anti-trafficking organisation – and tourist organisation Wonderful Copenhagen, postcards with the slogan ‘Be sustainable – don’t buy sex’ have been distributed to hotels as part of the campaign.
‘As mayor I have a duty over which image of Copenhagen will be shown during the summit and I think it’s deplorable that you can buy a woman for sex,’ said Copenhagen Mayor Ritt Bjerregaard, who is hosting her own climate conference for mayors.
In addition to the postcard campaign, the mayor has written to each of the 500 participants taking part in the Climate Summit for Mayors asking them to abstain from using the services of prostitutes.
I have no idea what buying sex has to do with being sustainable but prostitution in Denmark is legal. In any event, I’m looking forward to the Danish prostitutes getting back to us with how many delegates took advantage of their generous offer.
Rumor has it that global warming denier and all around nutcase, Republican Senator Jim Inhofe, has called the prostitutes offer of free sex a complete hoax and is planning on proving it by going to Copenhagen and actually paying for his sex.
I love dedicated politicians.

Don’t ya know it won’t only be Inhofe but a lot of Repubs (oh okay and maybe some Dems). That’s great they will be pumping (pun intended) into the economy in another country
I read about some research that was being done regarding men that look at porn as opposed to men that do not. They did come to one conclusion. They couldn’t find ONE man that has never been into porn. Case closed! I read that today. (Not one!) :-)

I lived in Copenhagen for about a year. Now I remember why.
