John McCain gets a little more cartoonish every time he defends his irresponsible decision to take on Sarah Palin as his running mate.
“It was thorough, and it was complete, and I am so proud that Sarah Palin agreed to be my running mate,” he said in response to a question about the vetting. “And the facts are stubborn things, as Ronald Reagan used to say. The fact is that it energized our party. It gave us a very much-needed impetus, and Sarah Palin’s popularity continues very strongly to this day. And the hysterical attacks from the liberal left are ample indication of the threat that she poses to the liberal left and especially the feminist, radical-left movement in this country.”
Yes, facts are a stubborn thing and the facts are that seventy-two year old John ‘Me First’ McCain put self before country in selecting bubblehead Palin as his VP. No one expects him to criticize his own decision but it would serve him well to keep his mouth shut as opposed to blatantly lie as he’s doing. Every story which has come out of the campaign, many by his own people, clearly indicates that there was very little vetting done on Palin.
As for the “attacks” on her, while it might be convenient to state that the criticism all comes from the left, that too would be a lie. Who could forget Kathleen Parker’s piece in National Review Online…
“Palin filibusters. She repeats words, filling space with deadwood. Cut the verbiage and there’s not much content there.”
“If BS were currency, Palin could bail out Wall Street herself.”
Thinking conservatives understand that Palin is poison. As well, independents would never vote for anyone as intellectually lacking as Palin. Over sixty percent of Americans have indicated their unwillingness to vote for her and an equal number rate her as unqualified to run for president.
McCain could spare us all the BS and try a little honesty for a change. Term limits would do so much in preventing types like McCain from inflicting further damage to the nation.

Last week it was exposed by the McCain camp that they had no real time to vet her, so their attorney “Googled” her and that was the vetting. How else would you think that all of that stuff about her like her attempts to get her ex-brother-in-law fired from the Alaskan State Troopers, her unwed and pregnant daughter was going to have to take stage with her, she had her home built by state contractors that got lucrative state contracts in exchange for building her home and her husband was a member of an Alaskan political party that wants to secede from the Union of States. And that is just off the top of my head. You might not find this through Google, unless you Google her after you those reporters went up to Alaska and spent a few days doing what the attorney should have done – research.
Wow, and I actually voted for this moron!
There was a time when John McCain was my favorite conservative. He showed courage and seemed to be a step above the partisan bullcrap of most politicians. That’s changed. He’s now shown he’s nothing other than a weasel willing to say anything he has to to get elected for another 6 year term.
Whatever, John McCain is a dooshbag, just like many other politicians..
I liked John McCain one time. While he was campaigning and a woman said “Obama is an Arab,” (something like that) McCain spoke up and said it wasn’t true. Palin never stood up to the attendance of Stormfront at the rallies. She embraced the lies & the smear campaign that was without fact. She didn’t speak up about the racist signs. She just sat there trying to memorize the names of newspapers.
Somebody might want to tell John the campaign is over and he doesn’t have to utilize those talking points anymore
John McCain did great by his country in war and was a valiant soldier. As a politician,he has reached his limits and the Peter principle has set in. It is best to leave his place to more imaginative minds
