Let it be known that I picked Slumdog Millionaire to win the Best Picture Oscar as soon as the closing credits began rolling the day I first saw this movie.
I’ve got this little thing where after watching a movie which has touched me in some significant way, I instantly rank it in my personal list of all-time favorites. After watching Slumdog Millionaire I immediately placed it somewhere around the #5 slot in the only movie ranking scheme which counts. Of course I speak of the MPMR (Mario Piperni Movie Rankings). As I noted in a post back in January, this film has it all – acting, plot, cinematography as well as an amazing soundtrack.
Now, for those of you who are dying to know what my favorite movie of all time might be, it’s Casablanca, followed closely by The Godfather 1 and 2. I doubt if any film will ever take over that number 1 slot from Casablanca. It’s a classic in every sense of the word.
I’d enjoy hearing what your favorite all-time film might be and why. Let us know.
(On a side note, I think I’m falling in love with Kate Winslet. What a beautiful, elegant woman. Hey Kate…I’m available!)

No argument from me in regards to Schindler’s List and Rob Roy. I’ve got both of those films ranked in my top 20.
As for Casablanca, you might be interested in knowing that it is rated by most movie pundits as the second best all time movie ever made. The first? Citizen Kane.
Yes Mario, Casablanca is a wonderful movie and I cannot see it enough times. As for Slumdog Millionaire, I loved it but I wouldn’t rate it in my top five. As for your infatuation with Kate Winslet, I’m told I have a striking resemblance to her. :)
Casablanca? A little before my time.
My pick for best move is Schindler’s List. I’ve watched that film at least 30 times. Liam Neeson was incredible.
My second favorite film has got to be Rob Roy. Yes it’s another Neeson picture. What can I say, the guy’s a great actor.
