The Home Office of the United Kingdom has banned Michael Savage for being a hate promoter. Savage in turn claims he will sue the UK for defaming him. In addition, he has asked his listeners to cease any travel to the country and to not purchase any British products.
It’s interesting that Savage would take offense to being banned or to make claims of being defamed when in the past he has said of the Council on American-Islamic Relations and Islam…
“What kind of religion is this? What kind of world are you living in when you let them in here with that throwback document in their hand, which is a book of hate. Don’t tell me I need re-education. They need deportation. I don’t need re-education. Deportation, not re-education. You can take C-A-I-R and throw ‘em out of my country. I’d raise the American flag and I’d get out my trumpet if you did it. Without due process. You can take your due process and shove it.”
Really, are there any bounds to the idiocy of Savage?

The Weiner did talk about leaving the country after Obama’s election – great American that he is (heavy sarcasm). He asked callers to call in and say where they would move to if they could. Oh yeah, patriotic to the end.
Kinda telling. His show is not broadcast in England. Perhaps they get their information on Savage from the same sources you use. You know. Media Don’t Matter and YouBoob.
I think it’s funny. You guys are supposed to be shining beacons of diversity and inclusion. Yet you applaud censorship and vilify anyone who has an opposing thought.
My guess is Savage will laugh all the way to the bank.
As I understand it, The Fred Phelps of the Westboro Baptist Church and his daughter Shirley Phelps Roper are also banned. Hate speech and all. Don Black, former Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard and owner of Stormfront, the White Supremisist website is on the list. Erich Gliebe,a/k/a “The Aryan Barbarian”, CEO and acting Chairman of the neo-Nazi National Alliance is on the list.
Michael Savage seems to fit with the rest of them.
The most ironic part of this whole deal is that Savage/Weiner spends quite a bit of time ranting on about Mexicans and Muslims in the U.S. And, here another country says to him, “we don’t want you”, and he is up in arms.
If he sues, and I understand he plan to sue, all his clips of hate speech will be brought forth.
I think Shirley Phelps is an attorney. Maybe she can represent him. Someone should pass that info to Weiner.
Looking at it strictly analytically, Savage has been on the radio I think for around 15 years, 3 hours a day, 5 days a week. He has written 20 best selling books. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Education, a PhD in Epidemiology and Nutritional Ethno-Medicine and Master’s degrees in Medical Botany and Medical Anthropology. (I got this info from his site so I hope he isn’t lying.)
His show is not broadcast in Great Britain so one is left to wonder where Ms. Smith got her information. (Probably YouBoob) But my guess is she has probably never listened to a Savage show and certainly has not listened to a fair representation of his entire body of work. So is it fair to define 2 or more decades of accomplishments with a few out of context lines? And if it is, couldn’t this be done to almost any speaker or commentator of note?
(My further guess would be that none of you have listened to enough of his work to form an intelligent opinion either.)
I’m not a big fan of Savage although I probably listen to at least a couple hours of his show each week. I don’t find him any different than most of the commentators out there. Is he really that much worse than say a Bill Mahr? All of them make ridiculous statements from time to time. Their job is to provoke thought, agreement and disagreement, sometimes through outrageous comment. I’m not aware that is a crime or an offense in any relatively modernized country.
And if Savage is banned, what do you think Ms. Smith thinks of Jeremiah Wright’s Comments? I wonder if HE would be welcome?
Anyway, you guys go ahead and run around slapping each other on the back and giggling like a bunch of teenagers. I personally think it’s a travesty and insult to our country when a person can be villainized for their opinions. I hope Savage is successful in his attempt to force an apology and withdrawal of his “banishment” through the courts.
This is a dangerous road you’re going down. As with Specter, you should be careful what you wish for. One day, they may come for you and there will be no one left to stand up for you.
“How is it that liberalism has gotten so distorted and cowardly?” (Savage)
Note: O’Reilly is doing a segment on this tonight. Should be interesting. (Or, have you guys gotten around to banning O’Reilly yet?)
“We” haven’t banned anybody. The U.K. banned him. As well as the other Americans I listed in my previous comment. There were other people on the list as well.
Again, as Savage wants to ban all Muslims, I think it’s rather ironic that he is up in arms about this issue anyway.
If he sues, all his hate speech will come to light. Again. And, there is more than enough to fill reams of paper.
If his education is as you stated in your comment, he is a bigger jackass than I thought. How could he make that comment about autism with his educational background? The name Weiner fits.
But I will give it to you guys. The “Weiner” stuff is pretty good…..for a bunch of 6 year olds.
If you really knew anything at all about Savage, you would know he is very much against over prescription of drugs for children and misdiagnosis that result in children wrongly being given drugs to correct behavior.
While I may not agree with what he says precisely, I can find agreement in the bigger picture.
Savage’s Web message reads: “My comments about autism were meant to boldly awaken parents and children to the medical community’s attempt to label too many children or adults as ‘autistic.’
“Just as some drug companies have over-diagnosed ‘ADD’ and ‘ADHD’ to peddle dangerous speed-like drugs to children as young as 4 years of age, this cartel of doctors and drug companies is now creating a national panic by over-diagnosing autism, for which there is no definitive medical diagnosis!
Many children are being victimized by being diagnosed with an ‘illness’ which may not exist, in all cases. Just a few weeks ago doctors recommended dangerous anti-cholesterol drugs for children as young as 2 years of age! Without any scientific studies on the possible dangers of such drugs on children, corrupt doctors made this controversial, unscientific recommendation.
“Increasingly, our children are being used as profit centers by a greedy, corrupt medical/pharmaceutical establishment. As the brother of a severely disabled person who suffered and died in a New York ‘snake-pit’ of a ‘mental hospital,’ I know first-hand what true disability is.
“To permit greedy doctors to include children in medical categories which may not be appropriate is a crime against that child and their family. Let the truly autistic be treated. Let the falsely diagnosed be free.”
I don’t really care about nor am I defending Savage. I AM defending his right to express (in this case) an educated opinion. And I certainly support doing your research before making knee jerk statements based on incomplete information and out of context, one line snippets from YouBoob.
“I’ll tell you what autism is. In 99 percent of the cases, it’s a brat who hasn’t been told to cut the act out. That’s what autism is. What do you mean they scream and they’re silent? They don’t have a father around to tell them, ‘Don’t act like a moron. You’ll get nowhere in life. Stop acting like a putz. Straighten up. Act like a man. Don’t sit there crying and screaming, idiot.’
“If I behaved like a fool, my father called me a fool. And he said to me, ‘Don’t behave like a fool.’ The worst thing he said — ‘Don’t behave like a fool. Don’t be anybody’s dummy. Don’t sound like an idiot. Don’t act like a girl. Don’t cry.’ That’s what I was raised with. That’s what you should raise your children with. Stop with the sensitivity training. You’re turning your son into a girl, and you’re turning your nation into a nation of losers and beaten men. That’s why we have the politicians we have.”
It’s easy to make crap up the day after. He said what he said.
And, how does he explain repeatedly playing Bobby Darrin’s “Beyond The Sea” after JFK’s fatal plane crash, laughing and bashing the Kennedy’s? This is a cruel man.
There you go again. I don’t hate him. I don’t condemn him. So therefore, he MUST be my hero??
Well mimi, I was thinking about adopting you as my newest hero. But I find you so filled with liberal bias, hatred and venom, I just don’t think I can do it in good conscious now.
…and let me just add, if you are going to dish it out, you should be able to take a little bit in return. You have made a few pointed comments yourself.
But what about that Mary’s Photos? Aren’t they nice??
One of the most blatant examples of “hate speech” was provided by Jeneane Garafalo last week when she was trying to explain the tax protests held across the nation. It is her belief that “White men are not pleased with President Obama because he is Black.” Thus all White men are suddenly “red necks.” Such remarks do nothing but create hostility.
Now if we could only get this country to ban him.
The Weiner did talk about leaving the country after Obama’s election – great American that he is (heavy sarcasm). He asked callers to call in and say where they would move to if they could. Oh yeah, patriotic to the end.

Do you just babble for the sake of babbling? Equating hate speech with opposing thought is idle meaningless talk.
Are you drinking? You’re certainly making no sense.
Jeez!! Talk about babbling…….
Do you agree with savage on deporting all muslims? If you do, then you’re being consistent. If not, then it can only be called hate speech.
As I understand it, The Fred Phelps of the Westboro Baptist Church and his daughter Shirley Phelps Roper are also banned. Hate speech and all. You know, this might be a salient point if there were any instances of Radio Talk Show Hosts committing acts of terror.

Find another hero, Libby.
He’s on the list, isn’t he?
There you go again. I don’t hate him. I don’t condemn him. So therefore, he MUST be my hero??
Well mimi, I was thinking about adopting you as my newest hero. But I find you so filled with liberal bias, hatred and venom, I just don’t think I can do it in good conscious now.
Are you insinuating that since he is on the list, he has committed acts of terror?
Why twist the issue? The list concerns promoters of hate, not acts of terror. Savage promotes hate.
I shall sleep better tonight, Libby. Because that unwarranted description of me was simply uncalled for.
Oh go on with your “taking yourself too seriously” self.
What more do you want? Out of respect for your usual thoughtful commentary, I altered my name!
What more could a gal ask for?? ;-)
Go back to your room little girl. The adults are playing here.
He is being pilloried for his opinions. Maybe they should do the same to you!
That was an ugly and uncalled for thing to say. Ignore list for you.
Thank you.
…and let me just add, if you are going to dish it out, you should be able to take a little bit in return. You have made a few pointed comments yourself.

A member of Britain’s Least Wanted. We don’t want him either.
