Michelle Obama and Fox News are sort of going to break bread this weekend. That’s because former Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee has wooed the obesity-fighting first lady onto his weekend show to talk about food, fat, and kids.
Huckabee, who famously lost over 100 pounds and wrote about it in Quit Digging Your Grave With a Knife and Fork: A 12-Step Program to End Bad Habits and Begin a Healthy Lifestyle, tells our Suzi Parker that he agrees with the first lady that childhood obesity is a major threat to kids.
“It is not a left/right, liberal/conservative, Democrat/Republican issue. This is an issue that falls beyond what I call the ‘horizontal’ issues of left and right and rises to the ‘vertical’ level of up or down,” Huckabee says.
Give Republicans a few days and they’ll find a way to blame obesity on Obama and his socialist agenda. A week later a CBS/Washington Post poll will indicate that 58% of Americans believe President Obama’s policies encourages kids to eat more. Sarah Palin will earn another $100 grand giving a speech in which she insists that Obama has personally attacked Trig’s baby fat and demands an apology. Limbaugh will yell out some nonsense about f***ing fat kids and Glenn Beck will point out on his chalkboard how the words ‘Obama’ and ‘overweight’ suspiciously both begin with the letter ‘o’.

Children obesity leads to adult obesity, which is a huge problem in this soceity. Obama believes that you have to start from the bottom and built. So he is doing same with this issue. Obesity in adults is the cause of many many illnesses that raise the cost of healthcare. So healthcare and obesity are intermingled.
