Knoll Nuts – Grassy or Otherwise

lou dobbs http://mariopiperni.com/

.

This little exchange between Don Imus and Fox’s Chris Wallace caught my eye.

WALLACE: You know, I guess what surprises me is that one of our competitors, I’m not going to say their name, but their initials are CNN, they’re saying, well, we really can’t decide for the public what a legitimate news story is, so we’ll cover it; what if a bunch of people decided the earth is flat, we’re now going to report that story and let people vent on that? That’s what news organizations are about, is debunking and editing and deciding what’s relevant and what’s worth talking about, and what isn’t, and clearly the birth certificate story isn’t worth talking about because it isn’t true. And I think to everybody’s satisfaction it’s been demonstrated it’s not true. I’m a little surprised — you know, I’m not surprised that people will do things, because some people will do something for ratings every time.

IMUS: Like, uh, I guess leading the charge is my friend, by the way, Lou Dobbs, who appears on this program on a regular basis, and I like — love Lou, known him for years, but it makes him look like a grassy knoll nut.

WALLACE: Well, exactly, exactly. But either grassy knoll nut or just so calculating in his sense, well, there’s some audience out there and I’ll chase it.

What I found interesting here was not Wallace’s silliness in talking about “news organizations” and using the word “we’re” as if any rational person out there actually believes that Fox is anything but a propaganda right-wing noise machine.

No, of more interest was Imus describing Lou Dobbs as a “grassy knoll nut”.   I like that image.

  1. Tony says:

Lou Dobbs said he believes Obama a citizen. Lou Dobbs did say there is some doubt that Obama met the requirements set forth in the Constitution that one must be a “Natural Born Citizen” as compared to being a “Native Born Citizen”. If Hawaiian officials said they “looked it over” and the long form birth certificate is “in order”,,,then why is it STILL under a court seal to this day? Obama could tell his legal team to remove the seal and have it published in every newspaper in America tomorrow morning and end the controversy in 24 hours. So simple,,,,yet he won’t do it. Why?

  2. catlover says:

To drive people like you crazy.

  3. pinata says:

Lou’s got a problem with brown people. He’s done his best to start a race war with hispanics. The man is pathetic.

  4. jeannie says:

Lou, when fox news (head office for the tinfoil hat lovelies) makes fun of you for being too loony, it’s time to hang it up.

  5. anteater says:

Just read this at Huffington Post.

“Mr. Dobbs’ first began reporting on Obama birth certificate conspiracy theories on the night of Wednesday, July 15. In the roughly two weeks since then, from July 15 through July 28, Mr. Dobbs’ 7 p.m. show on CNN has averaged 653,000 total viewers and 157,000 in the 25-54 demo.

By contrast, during the first two weeks of the month (July 1 to July 14) Mr. Dobbs averaged 771,000 total viewers and 218,000 in the 25-54 demo. In other words, Mr. Dobbs’ audience has decreased 15 percent in total viewers and 27 percent in the demo since the start of the controversy.”

    I think Dobbs is hot.

  7. Tommy Pane says:

Seriouly though. You get what you put your attention on. By putting your attention on stopping the birthers, you’ll get more of them. It’s true of anything you try to stop. Look at America. We tried to stop Communism and we got Obama.

  8. VP says:

The idea of Chris Wallace calling someone else a nut – even a birfer nut like Lou “Brown People Will Spread Disease Into Your Children” Dobbs – is so rich I’m sure it must be fattening.

And, for you other birfer nuts, we all know you’d just keep pushing this idiotic non-issue because you’re all sore-loser crybabies, no matter what hasppened. The facts have been shown to you, and all you slimy little nutbags did is move the goalposts.

So shut up. You lost the election, you failed to push your lie, you failed to realize the facts when they were shown to you. Stop wasting our time with your lies and hate, and shut the hell up.

  9. Maxene says:

You know what’s odd. There is something that he almost never brings up, and that is the fact that his wife Debi is Mexican-American. He has two daughters with Mexican blood running through them, and he lives with his in laws. Is he ashamed of his family?

There was something about it in a 2007 interview. When this was revealed, it was quite a shock to many Mexican immigrants as well as the anti-Mexican, anti immigration xenophobes around the country.

What I also find quite ironic is that Debi Dobbs was arrested at the Newark International Airport a few years back when security found she was carrying a loaded gun in her handbag. She was charged with criminal possession of a weapon. She was fingerprinted and photographed by Port Authority Police, and released without bail. This was kept hush hush, and I’m not sure of the outcome of the case.
