.

RNC chairman Michael Steele wrote a fiction piece in the Washington Post with the single intent of scaring the hell out of seniors.  His trash article on health care reform pretty much stated that Obama is out to wipe out every senior in the country.

“…we need to outlaw any effort to ration health care based on age. Obama has promoted a program of “comparative effectiveness research” that he claims will be used only to study competing medical treatments. But this program could actually lead to government boards rationing treatments based on age. For example, if there are going to be only so many heart surgeries in a given year, the Democrats figure government will get more bang for its buck if more young and middle-aged people get them.”

Dems are just going to have to find a way to ram reform through Congress.  To paraphrase Barney Frank, talking to Republicans is like talking to your dining room table.

Hey, I have had many an interesting conversation (albeit yes useless) with my dinning room table and 6 chairs (the number of Republicans in my family)

Why is this so hard? My hospital (Hoag in Newport Beach) Requires a Notarized Living Will before a scheduled surgery or you won’t be admitted. They do NOT want to get caught up in that poor Florida hospital with a Terry Schiavo show.
Plus I have a Death Directive for my family instructions – Hospital doesn’t need that.

Isn’t a “Death Panel” (or Living Will for those who don’t want to scare the 45 year old dim-witted children) for making a decision to either LIVE as Terry Schiavo on a “series of tubes” forever.
OR 2. “I’m brain dead get me out of here!”

Consider your Wife/Husband has reached the terminal stage of your disease requiring lots of extra care for a comfortable ride through the tunnel of white light.

You’re doctor was smart enough to review your choices with you (while you were still cognizant) about hospices and all the choices you have and what your insurance will do etc. So you signed the paper that either said I choose Home: “I want to die at home with my family” OR Not Home:: “Hey quite I’m dyin’ here – god get me to a Hospice”

Gotta go I have a death Panel Meeting tonight at 8pm (Katie; see you at the ol folks home it’s a mass Neighborhood watch decision. And remember the march next week against smoking, trans fat and the “wear your helmet” rally so we can save anyone trying to leave the Gene Pool)

  2. Mario, did you see MSNBC’s reaction?! They showed where most of Michael Steele’s commentary showed that he actually agrees with the Democrats about Medicare being a great program that he wants to protect for seniors! Perhaps we can talk him into expanding and improving it so we can all get it! Then we won’t have to worry about health care reform….Michael Steele has already sold it for us!

  3. Jovial says:

I think the President has to get a better message across. I think he should capitalize on the same route he used to collect funds on the campaign trail. The Internet. Send out summaries of the bill and better contradict the main points of the Republicans. He needs to be in the face of the people and really be present. A President of and for the people. If they have questions, contact their government representative or a Democratic representative. They’ll never get the truth from GOP reps.

  4. Karen says:

Michael Steele is the GOP’s lame attempt to appear diverse and inclusive.

  5. Larry says:

I think I totally agree with Karen. I’m off to the Doctor. That’s 3 times in one month. I must have some sort of undiagnosed malaise.
