Iran – Rejoice That McCain Is Not President

McCain Old School http://mariopiperni.com/

.

John McCain’s selling point during the election campaign was that he had the experience on foreign policy to be able to deal with Iran and Korea. Remember that? Obama was portrayed as the naive, know-nothing young liberal who lacked the credentials to enter the ring with those who wished the country harm. The electorate was told that America’s security would be in jeopardy should they choose to elect an “empty suit” as commander in chief.

Republican’s have been all over Obama in the way he has dealt with the Iranian election crisis claiming he has not been tough enough.  Leading the pack in denouncing Obama has been McCain who has been all over the news saying stuff like…

The United States should support the Iranian people “in their struggle against an oppressive, repressive regime.  Iran should not be subjected to four more years of [President Mahmoud] Ahmadinejad and the radical Muslim clerics.”

The idiocy of this approach could not be clearer.  But don’t take my word for it.  Here’s what some prominent conservatives have been saying

Pat Buchanan

“My view is that it was very, very irresponsible for John McCain to say some of the things he said so early. It was very hot-headed in my judgment. It was impulsive. Can you imagine if the crowds in the streets suddenly were told, ‘Look, the Americans are with us. They’re behind us 100 percent. Let’s try to overthrow the regime,’ and then they were cut down by these Revolutionary Guard and their thugs? I think we would bear moral responsibility for having done that, and it would be a disaster. … I think they’ve done the right thing.”

Peggy Noonan

“To insist the American president, in the first days of the rebellion, insert the American government into the drama was shortsighted and mischievous. The ayatollahs were only too eager to demonize the demonstrators as mindless lackeys of the Great Satan Cowboy Uncle Sam, or whatever they call us this week. John McCain and others went quite crazy insisting President Obama declare whose side America was on, as if the world doesn’t know whose side America is on. ‘In the cause of freedom, America cannot be neutral,’ said Rep. Mike Pence. Who says it’s neutral?” Noonan continued: “This was Aggressive Political Solipsism at work: Always exploit events to show you love freedom more than the other guy, always make someone else’s delicate drama your excuse for a thumping curtain speech.”

Republican strategist Karen Hanretty

“I’m one of the Republicans who does not agree with John McCain on this. I think the president is taking a very nuanced approach to this. I think that that is a very wise thing for him to do. Look, this is the Iranians’ revolution. America, like it or not, is not very popular in the Middle East.”

‘We don’t want to be the foil for, you know, the opposition in Iran.’ “

McCain is not president, not now, not ever…and you can count your lucky stars and the smarts of Americans for that one.

Yep, President Obama’s Policy seems to be having the desired effect.

    http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=101774
(There are many, many more. Just google “Iran blames US”)

Germany and France among others, have come out with firm statements in support of the People of Iran. The U.S. has always, until the Presidency of this “empty suit”, stood firmly behind democracy.

You state this trash as if there is unanimous agreement with your empty suit of a President. There are many more, Democrat and Republican alike, that disagree with President Obama’s weak kneed, milksop position. Americans are growing increasingly tired of a President so willing to continuously apologize for being an American. Although I fully understand why you are enthralled with his apologies.

I wouldn’t expect you to understand. You come from a country that has not stood for much in the past. That negotiated it’s independence rather than fought to gain it. And to this day has a Political System steeped in a fawning desire to emulate the Commonwealth.

These young people are risking their lives to protest carrying signs printed in English. Why do think that they do that Piperni? How can you, or your smurfy new President sit back and silently watch women being beaten, kicked and killed in the street?

You shameless cowards and hypocrites INCLUDING your apologist, milksop of a President. You can muster up such outrage and indignity over slapping around a murderer or terrorist. But you endorse a conciliatory, apologetic approach to actions such as this.

Liberalism is the bane of human existence. Be proud of the man you so worship. This young woman gave her life in the middle of a Tehran Street while the Leader of the Free World sits in imperious safety, mollycoddling these animals.

How would you feel about Obama’s in particular, and the U.S.’s in general, lack of strength, character and leadership if that were YOUR Daughter, lying in the street bleeding to death?

How can you people look in the mirror?

Come back with your tired garbage about Bush this or Bush that. What reasonably intelligent person would care what you say about the “8 years of failed policies” and “blame it on the previous administration” mentality? This is happening right now.

What’s up with that? We don’t need to do this to express our opposing views.

  5. BlancaCarta says:

This is the same McCain of ‘Bomb Bomb Iran’ fame. There is little doubt we’d be either at war or on the verge of war with Iran if McCain had won.

“I remember what a burst of enthusiasm this gave us political prisoners. Finally, here was a Western leader willing to call things as they are and expose the true essence of the Soviet Union,” Sharansky said. “We dissidents always knew and felt that the most important thing was not to give in to illusions, not to be deceived by the Soviet Union. And that one day when the West finally saw the Soviet Union for what it was, there would be hope for victory.”
