Former Republican Congressman Dick Armey and current chairman of Freedomworks is doing his best to kill off health care reform. Dick Armey is out to screw you while he rakes in money from the health care industry.
Bill Moyers profiles this lowlife. .
.
While in Congress, Armey was one of the key players in blocking President Clinton’s health care reform proposals. Out of Congress, he is now doing the same. As for the integrity of this man, this is from Wiki:
In 1998, during the Monica Lewinsky scandal, a reporter asked him what he would do if he were in President Bill Clinton’s position. He replied “If I were in the President’s place I would not have gotten a chance to resign. I would be lying in a pool of my own blood, hearing Mrs. Armey standing over me saying, ‘How do I reload this damn thing?’”
Several of his former female economics students went public with stories of his sexually harassing them — harassment allegedly so severe that at least one student transferred to another school. He would later divorce his wife and marry one of his students.
These are the type of people standing in the way of you and health care reform.

Guys like Armey do not believe that government is there to represent and look after and balance the interests of voters & business. For him, this is just business – a way to make money.
The shame of it all is that conservatives somehow think that always putting business above the interests of voters somehow works in their favor – and that’s why FreedomWorks anti health care initiatives enjoy conservative support.
What we need is a balance between voters, government and business – for mutual benefit of voters and business.
According to Dick Armey what is good for the goose is not good for the gander. He is a fat cat lying through his teeth and he represents the corruption that we are always seeking to annihilate in Washington. What a fat lying lard. He enjoys government insurance protection while he gets paid by health care corporations so 40 some million don’t get health care benefits.
This is the saddest part of our capitalistic system. We can’t go on this way or a third of americans will be without coverage in another 20 years. This has got to turn around because if you thought the trillions of debt that Bush left us with was incredible and insurmountable, wait til you get what you deserve in the next 20 years if we don’t start addressing the greed of this country.
Tommy, I’ve got news for you: we do not live in a capitalist system because there is no fair market. It’s a system where large corporations control legislation with legalized bribery, such that the will of the people is not paramount… oh, wait… there must be a word for that..
P.S. Tommy, do you realize that Jesus Christ was a socialist?
Funny, because the typical conservative disagrees with Jesus on many issues:
1. Jesus owned nothing.
2. Jesus argued for the dissolution of the family and the establishment of communes.
3. Jesus loved all people regardless of ethnicity or class.
4. Jesus revolted against the imperial government, established religion and finance capitalism (usury).
5. Jesus taught that we should act as one body, one blood.
6. Jesus taught that his kingdom (ie nation state) is in the heart and not below the feet.
7. Jesus taught that we should fight for Justice and ‘turn the other cheek’ to petty morality.
8. Jesus was a laborer and a teacher.
9. Jesus practiced healing and forgiveness.
10. Jesus taught that you can’t be an imperialist and a disciple at the same time.
RDS – The government’s role in free enterprise (capitalism) is to protect it’s citizens from fraud and theft. Anything beyond that is taking sides. The influence of lobbiests, in my opinion, falls under the fraud category. Lobbiests should be eliminated.
Free enterprise is what allowed Jesus to be a laborer. The Roman government is what limited his freedoms, and eventually caused his death. He taught personal responsibility, not dependence on the state, or making oneself a burden on others.
Personally, I’m not particually religious, so I’m not going to start quoting Bible verses for you. I like what John Wayne said in The Shootist:
“I won’t be wronged, I won’t be insulted, and I won’t be laid a hand on. I don’t do these things to other people, and I require the same from them.”
