President Bush disagrees that America’s moral standing in the world has been damaged under his tenure in the White House. Is this guy delusional or what? Why does he think the entire world rejoiced at the victory of Barack Obama in the presidential elections? It was as much for the hope and inspiration that Obama represents as it was for the fact that Bush will no longer be around.
Has the United States moral standing suffered under Bush? Absolutely. Iraq, Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib are but three of the reasons that the world’s view of the United States suffered under Bush. Bush’s failure to acknowledge this fact is but more evidence that he operates with blinders on.
Do you actually listen to these things? Or do you just pick up the talking points from CNN or MSNBC and regurgitate them? I think the point Bush was making is the Moral Standing of the US is subjective depending on who you ask.
Unless you’ve been living in a dark cave for the last five years, you know exactly what the Iraq war, torture at Guantanamo and Bush’s overall arrogance has done to downgrade respect for the US worldwide. There’s nothing subjective about that little fact.
Bush is giving his “Farewell Address” to the Nation on Thursday night I believe. I’m sure you could go ahead and tell us now what all is wrong with everything he has to say now and save us the anticipation.
January 20th. The day no one has to worry about anything again because the Liberal Messiah has returned to Earth…..in the form of an inexperienced Chicago Politician and Community Organizer.
I don’t follow politics like you guys but I would like to add a little comment…yes Obama may be considered inexperienced but how else will he get experience…he can’t do much worse than the previous government (and I am in no way saying they(Bush adm.) did “worse” / everything is relative )and perhaps he`ll do better then the previous administration. As for being a community organizer…hey if he could organize then why not give the guy a chance with a country!!! What can possibly be worst than the present situation that the States are in.
Josie, guys like bigdaddy are never going to view Obama in a fair and balanced way. This is why they can make silly comments like referring to him as the “Liberal Messiah”.
They harp on the ‘community organizer tag as if it gives an apt description of Obama’s accomplishments. They never mention that he is a constitutional law professor or that he served as an Illinois Senator for six years or that he is an accomplished writer who was able to put his vision down on paper.
Compare that to Bush’s experience when he took office. It amounted to a couple of years as Texas governor and a couple of failed business ventures. Too funny.
….and guys like Mario are always going to tell others how they should think and why what they think is wrong if it isn’t in line with HIS thinking. Hey! I got an idea. Ask Mario why they allow so much latitude to Obama but crucified Sarah Palin as the VICE Presidential..Not Presidiential but VICE Presidential Candidate for hmmmmmm, lack of experience!
I’m willing to view Obama as exactly what he is. A Radically Liberal Politician cranked out of the same Political System that has given us Richard Daly and Rod Blagojevich and home of perhaps the crookedest Politics in America. And you don’t have to take my word for it. The most inexperienced Gentleman EVER to be elected as President of the United States. Now I hope he does well and contrary to Mario’s thinking for me, I have no opinion of how his Presidency will unfold. But I’m not willing to bestow Sainthood on him before he even takes office. So far, at least 3 of his picks for position in his administration have been revealed to have serious liabilities, one of which has already resigned. Does this show the fabled “Poor Judgement” some people railed at length about Pre Election?? Or have the Mario’s of the world figured out some way to blame that on Bush also!! (smile)
C’mon, admit it bigdaddy…you’ve got a thing for Palin, don’t you? Only one who is transfixed by her good looks could fail to see that Caribou Barbie committed her own crucification. Not that it was difficult for her to do – she only needed to open her mouth.

That’s a pretty funny line you wrote there, my friend. I’m expressing my opinion as I’m assuming you are. If the warped ‘logic’ in your comment is true, then why would it not apply to you as you think it does for me?
Or is it that when I express an opinion, it is a case of me telling you how to think. And when you express an opinion,it is simply that – an expression or your beliefs.
Is that the way it works in your illogical world, bigdaddy?
Nope. The way it works in my world is Palin is not an issue for now. Maybe in a couple of years, but not now. Bush is for all intent and purposes no longer the President. Get over it. Move on. Be relevant or become extinct. Your one trick pony political show needs to evolve.
I just find it ridiculous that you guys can hurl all the nasty slurs and names at Sarah Palin or President Bush either one and that is fine. But when it comes to Obama, you broach no criticism. Just typical delusional liberal thinking.
What you view as “nasty slurs and names” are actually legitimate criticisms of a flawed presidency.
What is interesting and revealing in your last comment, bigdaddy, is how Bushie apologists such as you have denounced all criticism of Bush over the last 8 years as treasonous. “We’re at war!”, you all cried out. “We must support our President”, you all yelled in unison.
And now that Bush is leaving office, we are told that criticism of his policies is irrelevant and it’s time to “move on”. So in your narrow view, it would never be a good time to criticize this guy, right?
I’m sorry. I wasn’t aware “Caribou Barbie” constituted a legitimate criticism of a flawed Presidency. Thank you for enlightening me. You are a little narrow minded there buddy. I see no problem with criticising Bush or his administration. I DO however think that some of the criticism has risen to the level of Treasonous. Pelosi, Mahr, Moore to name a few. The statements above you attribute to me I have never made. Pay attention Sonny!!!
I am questioning what you or your ilk have to gain at this point by continuing with your unreasonable hatred and criticism of Bush, Palin, et al.
Wonderful Logic?? I don’t exect you to be logical or understand logic. You are a Liberal!! (smile dammit….smile!!)
I don’t speak for “my ilk”…just for me. And as if it wasn’t obvious enough, criticism of Barbie is directed at Barbie and no on else. Hope that helps your understanding.
Do you actually listen to these things? Or do you just pick up the talking points from CNN or MSNBC and regurgitate them? I think the point Bush was making is the Moral Standing of the US is subjective depending on who you ask.
C’mon, this is not even a point of contention.
Unless you’ve been living in a dark cave for the last five years, you know exactly what the Iraq war, torture at Guantanamo and Bush’s overall arrogance has done to downgrade respect for the US worldwide. There’s nothing subjective about that little fact.
But worry not; January 20 is only a week away.
Bush is giving his “Farewell Address” to the Nation on Thursday night I believe. I’m sure you could go ahead and tell us now what all is wrong with everything he has to say now and save us the anticipation.
