Allan West Finally Gives It Up

Allen West -

The guy who once said to Democratic leaders…

Take your message of equality of achievement, take your message of economic dependency, take your message of enslaving the entrepreneurial will and spirit of the American people somewhere else. You can take it to Europe, you can take it to the bottom of the sea, you can take it to the North Pole, but get the hell out of the United States of America.

…is now history. After dragging out his election loss for two weeks, West finally came to grips with reality…sort of. This is what he wrote on his Facebook page yesterday.

While many questions remain unanswered, today I am announcing that I will take no further action to contest the outcome of this election.

I’m not sure what made me happier on election night – President Obama’s win or Allen West’s loss. It might very well have been the latter. If there was one Republican who embodied the complete tea-bagging, partisan, obstructionist, narrow-minded idiocy of the last two years, it was West.

And so, to the man who once said that he believed that 78 to 81 members of Democrats in Congress were members of the Communist Party, here is my own little farewell message to Mr. West.

Take your message of ignorance and hate, take your message of economic favoritism for the wealthy, take your message of enslaving the middle class somewhere else. You can take it to Fox, you can take it to talk radio, you can take it to the bottom of the sea, but get the hell out of Congress.

  1. He will take it to Fox. They would love to have a black teabagger on to criticize our black President, just like they use those vile women to verbally degrade women politicians, female soldiers, etc.

The reason they kicked Michael Steele to the curb is that he was not hateful enough. West will fit in nicely.

  2. Another one that we need to watch is Chaffertz. He was backing West all the way on the recall and he is behind the Benghazi uproar. I find him to have the tea party attitude and I find that his relevance is being diminished by the new conservatives as he is not on TV as much.

Hope Chaffertz is defeated when he runs again

  3. This is some wonderful news. West was so loaded up with money from the Koch bros that he could of dragged this thing as far as it could go. I’m sure he heard from his friend Rupert and will be a regular on the faux media entertainment channel.

  4. It’s only 2:30 PM but I think I will have a celebratory swig of bourbon, then I will go polish all my communist party awards and paraphernalia. Life is still good.

  5. Baileys for me! I am finding hope in the world in these last two weeks. Sadly, my oldest son is no longer speaking to me. I don’t blame him — I blame the divisiveness the GOP has propagated for 40 years.

And every day I am thankful for having left the Midwest behind.

Hopefully, time (and common sense) will prevail.

  6. I must admit a certain degree of satisfaction that Allen West will not be returning. He is the one who has a problem with America and he certainly does not belong in our government. I would suggest he try out for maybe a custodian job, like mopping and sweeping floors. I’m sure he will be much more effective that way.

  7. You Sir are a traitor to the GOP.

While the rest of the GOP has stuck fast in their hatred, delusions, and denials in the face of the wave of reality that is sweeping them aside, you have betrayed them by accepting the reality of the situation.

Sarcasm aside, you have now completed your failure. You were a disgrace and failure of a soldier and now you are a failure and clown regarding politics.

  8. Ahhh this is good news. I can cross that one off my Christmas list. Now if Grover will roll over and the wealthy one percent will lead us over the so called fiscal cliff I might actually begin to relax a bit. At least until 2016.

P.S. Anonymous. I feel your pain. I have family members who actually “blame” me for the re-election of President Obama!! (I took it as a compliment which further exacerbated the misconception).
It will take the wisdom of Solomon, which this fiery Irish matriarch does NOT have, to keep Thanksgiving away from politics and focused on family tomorrow. Of the twenty-two family members coming together for dinner, a distant cousin and I are the only liberals. It will make for an interesting afternoon.
