The country must move on from debates about the past, because pressing questions about U.S. detention policy in the war on terror requires us to make difficult choices – and to make them soon.

We need to look at to make sure exactly what happened is known to the public and to deter any future president from doing like behavior, if it was wrong.  In that regard, if we can do it in a bipartisan fashion, I think that’s what we should do. Every American benefits when you can control X abuse of power. If this was an abuse of power, then we need to know about it.

Quote A. was spoken in 2009 in regards to investigating possible crimes committed by the Bush administration in respect to torture.

Quote B. was spoken in 2001 in regards to investigating former president Bill Clinton’s controversial pardon of Marc Rich.

    So it was important to investigate possible abuse of presidential power back when the culprit was Clinton but not now when the focus would be on Bush. Talk about duplicity.

    One proves even a President has a healthy libido. The other causes people to get killed.

    I think the fact that we have not been attacked again is the beginning of a good defense. Unlike you people, I don’t think defending those actions is important enough to place Americans under further peril.

    Yes, Libby. I am a US Citizen. And, I live in the states. I just don’t currently live in what Palin considers “Real America”. Funny though, they didn’t win the election.
