California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger will be the next Republican to have his name trashed by conservatives. How dare he speak the truth!
“I think the stimulus package has been very successful so far and I think California has benefitted tremendously.”
And on health care…
“I think any Republican that says you should start from scratch, I think that’s bogus talk, and that’s partisan talk.”
Arnold, please deposit your Republican membership card at the nearest GOP office. I hope I’m not wrong but I don’t see Schwarzenegger bowing down to Limbaugh who has been successful in getting every other conservative who had the audacity to speak the truth cower before his wrath.
Schwarzenegger has shown himself to be a solid conservative in most respects but there is no place in the Republican party for anyone who dares go against the current conservative game plan of bashing anything Obama.

Rush Limbaugh, in another gush of ignorant indignation, told his listeners today that the Obama administration do not want YOU to know what’s in the stimulus bill. And what, praytell, did he use to backup his claim? Are you ready for this? Well, he told them that the recovery bill which is posted on the internet is in a PDF format…and according to Limbaugh, PDF files are not searchable. What an idiot.
PDFs are, of course, searchable documents but to the simpletons who make up his audience who are not computer savvy, this would be further proof that democrats are an evil breed out to screw the country.
What’s one of the biggest ills running rampant in the US? Conservative misinformation. It’s an epidemic.
You can hear Limbaugh’s moronic comments for yourself.
Judd Gregg thought he could do it but at the end of the day, he realized he was unable to.
Gregg, Obama’s Republican pick to be his commerce secretary, faced the political issues as well as the political realities at hand and withdrew his name. He felt that the differences in fiscal philosphy between himself and Obama would have been a conflict which he would be unable to resolve. “I should have focused sooner and more effectively on the implications of being in the Cabinet versus myself as an individual doing my job“, he said.
Gregg’s decision to withdraw becomes yet another problem for the Obama administration in their ongoing attempt to fill out the Cabinet. Even more important is the further damage to Obama’s grand plan to forge a new bipartisanship era in Washington. Gregg’s decision along with the solidarity Republicans have displayed in fighting the stimulus bill have greatly tarnished the president’s early attempt in finding common ground between the two parties. While Gregg has taken full responsibility for his actions, Republicans will no doubt hope to turn it into a victory for their side.
If nothing else, Gregg will lose the RINO (Republicans In Name Only) tag which Reps had begun to throw his way when he first accepted Obama’s invitation to become commerce secretary. As for President Obama, it might be time to put bipartisanship temporarily on the back burner and focus instead on reviving the economy with or without Republican support.
The clash between fiscal and political issues is real but it is imperative that the former take precedent at this time of economic crisis.
Fox News is such a farce it’s not even funny anymore. Watch the video below for another example of Fox spreading lies and misinformation to their unknowing audience. I’ll explain further down why everything you hear in this video is a blatant lie.
There is no salt water harvest mouse provision calling for an expenditure of 30 million in the stimulus bill. It’s a lie. The story started via an email from a GOP staffer who claimed he had heard from an unnamed California agency that they would obtain $30 million from the stimulus package which they’d use for wetland restoration in the San Francisco area. The restoration would preserve the Salt Water Harvest Mouse in the area.
None of it was true. The GOP staffer admitted as much. But the email story was picked up by the conservative rag, The Washingtom Times which ran the story yesterday. Even after the story was found to be false, Fox News spent a day speaking about it and mocking Pelosi. The clowns on the morning show, Neil Cavuto’s show, Mike Huckabee and the supremely ignorant Glen Beck…the entire gang of lying scum all carried the story with their snickering “Nancy’s mouse” lies.
Now just imagine some Fox News fan, watching this crap. They hear about $30 million being spent to save a mouse in the San Francisco area and they start fuming. They begin snorting smoke and fire and pound the table with cries of “%*$(@& liberals!!!!” as they ignorantly start believing that the stimulus bill is all about pork. And this, my friends, is just another day in the ever ongoing smear and lie campaign of Fox News.
BTW, did I mention that Fox News is ‘fair and balanced’?
Few of us are economists and therefore to make an assessment of how well a certain ‘idea’ would help stimulate the economy, is often nothing more than repeating what we have heard an economist say. And as we all know, 100 economists will give you a 100 different thoughts on what will or will not work.
But this much I do know…whether the Obama recovery plan is successful or not will determine his fate in 2012. That said, I have no doubt he is consulting the best minds available and has put together a compromise plan which he believes will stimulate the economy.
For anyone to suggest that Obama has no real desire to truly fix the economy and wishes only to push ahead a liberal agenda, as many on the conservative side have argued, is nonsense. It is difficult to imagine Obama wishing to be a one term president.
As Obama has noted, he did not ask for this financial crisis. He inherited it and now he’s forced to do something about it. As to why anyone would think that he’d resort to measures which were tried for 8 years and which had much to do with the crisis at hand, is beyond me.
So disagree with specific measures but to suggest that President Obama has anything but the welfare of the nation in mind, is pure partisan lunacy. As he noted today in a town hall meeting, he will be judged solely on the results he obtains.
The recovery will not happen overnight. As to how patient the population remains as the nation ventures into unchartered territory, is yet to be determined.
