The Minnesota Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered that Democrat Al Franken be certified as the winner of the state’s long-running Senate race.
“The Supreme Court has made its decision and I will abide by the results,” Coleman told reporters outside his St. Paul home.
Not much more one could say on this epic 8 month battle that has not been said. Republicans did their darnedest to get Coleman elected and prevent a filibuster-proof Senate. It was not to be. Rumors have it that Coleman will be the new RNC chairman once Steele is finally booted from the post.
If you did not catch a post I wrote up on the Franken/Coleman farce, here it is.

Just when you thought Congress could not possibly get any worse. Stuart Smalley becomes a United States Senator.
How pathetic. Look at this man’s body of work……..now understand he will be running our country, making decisions that affect you and me. The only thing worse than a “Senator” Al Franken is the idots that think that’s a good idea.
Libby, Libby, Libby, bless your heart. I’m curious, do you have to work at being this divisively condescending or does it come naturally?
What are you afraid of? Perhaps that Stuart Smalley (who, by the way, is a character played by then comic Franken) will introduce a law mandating everyone look in the mirror and recite daily affirmations?
Instead of judging him outright the better choice would be to evaluate his voting record, after he has one. Give the new guy a chance Libby. After all, darn it, people like him.
@janine….It doesn’t take much effort or research to confirm Franken is a sleaze ball, low-life scumbag. His election and the support you people exhibit for him does not do you well.
@janine…Typical liberal sidestepping. I guess your Daddy’s bigger than my Daddy, too? Right?
How can the typical, pro women’s rights, pro gay, pro most anything traditionally judged to be on the outer edges of accepted morality, possibly support this vile piece of garbage?
Granted, the Republican/Conservatives may not be faring so well of late. But you guys are getting more ridiculous by the day.
Libby, you cannot possibly be so naive as to think that you can verbally bash someone in this venue and not get a response in return. And hey….my Daddy can probably whoop your Daddy. (haha)
My next to last nerve’s been plucked, wow, the malevolence for any viewpoint but your own drips from you leaving pique pools in your wake.
You write “How can the typical, pro women’s rights, pro gay, pro most anything traditionally judged to be on the outer edges of accepted morality, possibly support this vile piece of garbage?”
Huh? What? Careful of generalities if you are referring to liberals as a whole and careful of assumptions if you think this paragraph typifies the depth and totality of my viewpoints. And Libby it is not okay to refer to another human being as a ” sleaze ball, low-life scumbag, vile piece of garbage.” Libs, wholly inappropriate.
Take a breath man, look in the mirror and repeat after Stuart Smalley “Even though I, Libby, am a fundamental conservative, it is counterproductive to slobber hate out onto others.” And I will take a look in the mirror and repeat after Stuart “this is the first and last time I come close to Libby’s level of animosity because now I need to shower.”
@steve….another well thought out, articulate response from a loony. Typical.
@janine….Yes. I AM referring to liberals as a whole. You read Franken’s comments then think how loud you people would be squealing if Limbaugh, Savage, Bush, Cheney, you know, any of your self-proclaimed villains had said the same. But you people applaud this guy. Seems kinda hypocritical if you ask me.
And don’t get me wrong. I don’t hate any one. Certainly not a group of anonymous contributors to a blog. I just think most of you are so biased it negatively impacts your judgment.
And people like Steve that make ignorant, crude statements…well…I think their words pretty much speak for themselves. I couldn’t bring myself to hate them. I’m just sorry they never learned to communicate without the use of profanity.

Franken’s in, yep, youbetcha! He will help the middle class be able to prosper. That’s me and I’m struggling now so thanks, Franken!
The only question now is how long did the farce go on?
