A tad corny, but I like this little video for the message it conveys. For conservative (and especially the Religious Right) trying desperately to get the country to return to a 19th century mentality, they should all be forced to sit in a dark room and watch it repeatedly until the message gets firmly implanted in their little minds.
Why does scientific knowledge terrify conservatives as much as it does? The answer might be in the fact that science destroys some of their basic beliefs so they’d rather mock what they don’t understand than ever admit they’re wrong (e.g. climate change).

brainwashing.
Very cool. Great message. Thanks for sharing this Mario.
I thought one of the best quotes was by Neil deGrasse Tyson,
“If you’re scientifically literate, the world looks very different to you. And that understanding empowers you.”
The same is true of both politics and economics. If people are literate of all the different forms of government, including all of their pros and cons, and their historical successes and failures, they would geniunely grasp the genius of the system established by the Founders of the US system.
Those that are literate in economics understand how wealth is created in a free market. They are not swayed by false political promises of “things that they’re entitled to”, because they know that politicians can only give what they’ve already taken.
Tommy Pane; my son has been writing about the 2001 economic crisis of Turkey for his Senior Thesis. While proof-reading it for him, it felt very deja vu… except that it preceded ours. History is repeating itself, and I’m thankful my kid is learning about this.
