Michael Steele is definitely losing it. He’s had a horrible week and it appears that Republicans are ready to cut him loose. In a few short days, he has…
1. Declared he does not believe Republicans will take the House in 2010. That’s a political no-no. Rule 1 in politics is NEVER admit defeat before the fact.
2. Told Republicans who have criticized him to “shut up. Get with the program or get out of the way.”
3. Stated that it’s God’s doing that he is now RNC chairman.
“I feel this is part of a calling for me. I mean, I didn’t ask for, I didn’t seek this job, I didn’t ask for it. It wasn’t part of my, you know, charted course in life to wind up as chairman of the RNC. You know, there was a convergence of moments here.”
And now, there’s the controversy over his new book which he has been peddling all week. No one in Republican ranks had prior knowledge of the book. There is concern that Steele is promoting a Republican strategy which has not been approved by the party. In addition, Steele is profiting personally from his position.
So what does Steele do with this latest bit of criticism about his book? He says this…
“I wrote this book before I became chairman. Because of the clock and the calendar, I wound up doing it now.”
Good answer. Except that…
Unless Steele is remarkably clairvoyant, it seems as though it could not have been written before he became chairman — it is overwhelmingly a commentary on the political situation in America under President Barack Obama, as of late 2009.
The book is full of references to current events in 2009: The stimulus bill, the health care debate, foreign policy, ACORN, the party switch of Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter, the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, the Tea Parties and the 9/12 March on Washington, etc.
And…
Steele refers to himself on pages 14, 28, and 73, as being the chairman of the Republican National Committee.
Steele is an idiot.

And the title of his book is “Right Now: A 12-Step Program For Defeating The Obama Agenda” but he somehow wrote it in 2008.
Steele needs a 12 step program for liarolics.
