Republicans issued their proposed health care reform bill and the Congressional Budget Office has responded.
By 2019, CBO and JCT estimate, the number of nonelderly people without health insurance would be reduced by about 3 million relative to current law, leaving about 52 million nonelderly residents uninsured. The share of legal nonelderly residents with insurance coverage in 2019 would be about 83 percent, roughly in line with the current share.
Also…
Though some consumers would find their premiums reduced modestly, “in the large group market, which represents nearly 80 percent of total private premiums, the amendment would lower average insurance premiums in 2016 by zero to 3 percent compared with amounts under current law, according to CBO’s estimates. The figures are presented for 2016 as an illustrative example.”
In essence, the GOP’s proposal would,
a) do nothing for the uninsured
b) do little to lower premiums
c) allow health insurers to still reject claims based on pre-existing ideas.
And meanwhile, Eric Cantor is shouting out to clueless teabaggers out in Washington about the GOPs plans re the Democratic health bill.
“Be assured not one Republican will vote for this bill.”
Good plan, boys. Propose nothing that will help mend a broken health care system, all the while fighting a bill that will. As for the one American dying every 12 minutes because of lack of proper insurance, screw ‘em.
You’re doing your country proud.

In essence they want the status quo and protect insurance companies that send them to world resorts and gouge the people with noncompetitive rates. The great GOP has lost contact with ordinary folks and they applaud wingnuts the like of Beck,O’Reilly and Hannity.
Go figure ! They’re on a rat infested train going nowhere
They are nothing more than thugs and killers concerned not with the American People but only with their own power structure
I don’t think Cantor *means* to kill people. He’s just not very bright about some things. Like things related to governing or the legislature.
Cantor may not *mean* to kill people but that is, in effect, what he and others are doing.
The guy up for murder charges didn’t *mean* to kill his victim either, he just got carried away with his anger……
