As Democrats struggle to pass a health care reform bill, it seems like a good time to remember what the Republican’s game plan was from the beginning. In July 2009, Senator Jim DeMint expressed his thoughts on what his Republican party would do to help fix a broken health care system. You know, a health care system which is unaffordable for millions of Americans, a health care system which is the number one cause for bankruptcy in the country…a health care system which kills off 45,000 Americans each year because they are inadequately insured…those people, that health care system.
And the Republican’s will have their Alamo. This is not the way to build a country and people will not be duped. What will break the Republicans is the emptiness of ideas and a persistent lack of leadership
Republicans will be out positively when all the investments made in the past year create jobs and get the economy going again. I am sure it will happen before Nov 10.
David Plouffe – He’s baaack! Hopefully he can get the HCR message out in a way that does not get muddled by the mainstream media stumbling over their Republican talking points.
@lisa – you mean like the policies of a former President who seemed to think invading and overthrowing countries not even involved in WMD or terrorism was a good idea?
BS. It ** IS ** about race. It ** IS ** about (on our side) that we think we need to take care of our own. It’s not about more of the same, rich get richer, poor get poorer (or deader). The facts are the facts. 45,000 Americans die because of lack of proper health care each year. And you’re OK with that?
Our country has a LOT to apologize for, as well as a lot to be very proud of. We need to apologize for the death and destruction we have caused, as well as being very proud of our responses to the earthquake in Haiti, as well as our response to the tsunami that struck Indonesia, as well as many other natural disasters.
No. It’s not all bad. A MAJORITY of Americans don’t hate Obama’s policies. Which is why he was elected in the first place. The MAJORITY of Americans, showing the values of Americans, hated the policies of the former administration and made Obama our new President.
Hopefully we will be able to make the changes so badly needed to move our Country forward, rather than backwards as was done during the former administration.
I’ll agree with one of your allegations. The Dems have been too willing to attempt bipartisanship when that isn’t going to work. The Repubs thrive on being the party of no and will do anything they can to see Obama and our Country fail.
Country First? Hardly. As long as you’re a Republican.
@Craig. Don’t bother with “lisa”. “Lisa” is just another alias for Tennessean, a sick individual with a fixation for this blog. His venom has poisoned many a discussion here. There are decent conservatives out there. This guy is not one of them.

Yes, agreed. To a Republican FACTS are to be laughed at.
Not 20-something, never listen to Olberman or Matthews, and the facts of promises kept is what it is… Strike three there Lisa. ;-)

Holy sh1t. Tennessean is still around? I’m fed up of him/her.
Hope he disappears from here FOREVER !!!!
Hope your travels went smoothly Mario. All the best to you, sir.
