Tea Party Politics

Republican party - Teabag http://mariopiperni.com/

.

Rasmussen polled the following question:

“Okay, suppose the Tea Party Movement organized itself as a political party. When thinking about the next election for Congress, would you vote for the Republican candidate from your district, the Democratic candidate from your district, or the Tea Party candidate from your district?”

The numbers came in at:

Democratic 36%, Tea Party 23%, Republican 18%.

Rasmussen goes on to analyze what conclusions we can draw from the data.

“In practical terms, it is unlikely that a true third-party option would perform as well as the polling data indicates. The rules of the election process — written by Republicans and Democrats — provide substantial advantages for the two established major parties. The more conventional route in the United States is for a potential third-party force to overtake one of the existing parties.

To which, I ask…has the tea party movement not already taken over one of the existing parties?

It’s obvious that another party will rise out of the ashes of the Republican Party. Palin’s choice of words made me think she’s going to call this new party, the “Conservative” Party. Glenn Beck has made noises of the Libertarian kind, yet Palin mumbled something about running with him. So, is she a Conservative or Libertarian? Now whether the Tea Party will go for the Conservative label or the Libertarian Party, remains to be seen, but for now, the Tea bags are a mixture of both. When she visited the “Pro-American” states, she ostracized the rest of the country. On her recent book tour, she avoided large cities, which she admitted to. Ron Paul is the obvious Libertarian choice, so that leaves a Conservative Party pick for Le Palin. She’s confusing because with the racist element that held misspelled signs, without any form of admonishment, she’s ostracized all other races. She’ll never make herself cozy in the White House. A Libertarian might get closer, but I don’t see them getting there YET. Actually, if one of these party’s cleaned house, there could be a chance in the not so distant future, but until then, even the numbers speak for themselves, but it’s confusing as hell.

O’Reilly so *wanted* to like her but – well, didja see her answer why she thinks she’s smart enough to be Prez???

Hilarious that anyone could take Palin seriously.
Her future is something like 700club host.

You guys should lighten up a little on Palin. Maybe even encourage her a little. I have a few Ross Perot bumper stickers in my garage that are a testiment to how a long shot independent can get you what you want. He drew 19% of the popular vote in ’92, taking votes from Bush I, and giving the election to Clinton. Clinton would have lost without Perot’s influence. Think about it.

  7. Jovial says:

If the Republican party does not beginning to come out with new policies and legislation that can encourage debate, their time is numbered and believe me Sarah Palin is not the ticket.
