Things are heating up in the Republican household. Michael Steele, chairman of the Republican National Commitee, apprearing on CNN, took offense when told that Rush Limbaugh was the de facto leader of the Republican party. “No he’s not. I’m the de facto leader of the Republican party,” Steele said.
Steele wasn’t done yet. He went on to say, “Rush Limbaugh…the whole thing is entertainment…yes, it’s incendiary, yes it’s ugly…“
Ouch.
Limbaugh came back today to smack down Steele. “So I am an entertainer and I have 20 million listeners because of my great song and dance routine,” Limbaugh said. “Michael Steele, you are head of the Republican National Committee. You are not head of the Republican party. Tens of millions of conservatives and Republicans have nothing to do with the Republican National Committee…and when you call them asking for money, they hang up on you.“
Democrats are loving all of this. With Obama’s approval ratings in the 70s and the Democratic party focused on the economy, republicans are still trying to define themselves. Lovely.

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha … (taking a breath) ha, ha, ha, ha — I like that pic. It speaks volumes.
Poor Republican Party — it doesn’t know if it’s coming or going, what a mess it’s created for itself. Yup, Rush Limbaugh is an entertainer all right. Or, is he just a run-of-the-mill trouble maker?
Whatever he is, he is smart enough to take advantage of the the GOP’s sad state of affairs and is laughing all the way to the bank.
Rush explained it quite well yesterday when he pointed out that conservatism does not need redefining. It is alive, well and strong. My concern is with republicans trying to explain some of the problems of the last few years by changing our core conservative principles.
It’s not about our ideology or our principles. It’s about our leadership which is why we have to get a proven leade like Sarah Palin elected.
Rush is the ultimate con man. He’s making a fortune and has no qualms in lying his way to his millions. He admitted it himself when he announced a couple of years back that he was tired of “carrying water” for the Bush administration.
You were almost making sense rovan…until you came to Palin. I honestly have to question the reasoning ability of ANYONE who would actually wish to have Sarah Palin as their president.
[...] This of course is after he had said just two days prior, “Rush Limbaugh is an entertainer. His whole thing is entertainment. Yes, it’s incendiary. Yes, it’s ugly.” (See Rush Limbaugh and Michael Steele Duke It Out) [...]
