The issue here, TN, is not about Michael Steele as a person, but his statements as an official spokesperson for the GOP. If his statements are to be taken as the official stance of the GOP, then it amounts to the GOP aligning itself with a group they would have distanced themselves from not long ago.
One wonders how many moderate Republicans will jump ship rather than align themselves with a group they may have reservations about. One also wonders how many moderate Republicans will not have a choice in the matter.
