The Ever-So-Pathetic GOP

Michael Steele and Tea Party / teabaggers / http://mariopiperni.com/

.

After the Republican party sponsored tea party on Capitol Hill on Saturday, it can now be stated that the GOP has officially crossed over into a world where rational and honest thought is no longer a requirement.

RNC chairman Michael Steele confirms it.

“The challenge now, as you see the emergence of the 9/12 movement and the tea parties and so forth, [is to] help them appreciate that we’re with them, we’re walking that walk with them,” he said. “We’re making the same arguments they’re making about government intrusion into health care and the economy, stripping our freedoms, and that is a very difficult walk.

“We want to partner as much as possible,” Steele said.

We were already aware of the alliance between Republicans and teabaggers but hearing Steele state it clearly, confirms the level to which Republicans have sunk.  To think that a national political party would align themselves with a group of misinformed simpletons and far right crazies is mind-numbing.

Republicans have hit rock bottom.

“To think that a national political party would align themselves with a group of misinformed simpletons and far right (left) crazies is mind-numbing.”

And this is the voice of experience as we have just witnessed that happen on the other side with passage of a Health Care Reform Package the American Public rejects.

  2. Me says:

Yes, 40% of Americans do not want health care reform recently passed. Unfortunately, in a democracy, the majority rules. 60% absolutely wants what the house has recently passed.

  3. doubleaseven says:

    Mario,What are you smoking?
“To think that a national political party would align themselves with a group of misinformed simpletons and far right crazies is mind-numbing. Republicans have hit rock bottom.”

Is their any difference between Boehner, Cantor, Steele, Steve King, Bachmann, Palin etc and the Tea Party speakers and inciters? The Bachmann rally on Capitol steps should be ample evidence that Tea-Party and Grand-Old-Party are Siamese twins.

Steele on top of being a demagogue is a first class idiot. So he can shout, crow and generally deep throat himself with his foot.

  4. Tennessean says:

Me, not accurate according to virtually every poll I find.

“The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 45% now favor the health care plan proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats. Most (52%) remain opposed.”

  5. Tennessean says:

mario and doublea, I think you just don’t like and disagree with Steele because he is black. What overt racism you display!!

  6. Frances says:

Funny how wanting quality, affordable health care for all Americans is considered to be a bad thing by Republicans.

The GOP has not hit rock bottom yet. They will find a way to sink even further.

  7. Anomaly100 says:

@Tennessean: You must feel very desperate to call Mario & Doubleaseven, racists. You can’t win this arguement, in which case, you should concede or not have spoken at all. You didn’t & now you look desperate. ;-)

  8. Jovial says:

    Tennessean,

You have shown that you did not hit bottom yet so you will chisel yourself through the bottom to get lower than lower to win an argument. And behold you don’t have the audience to win.

And if you have followed this blog properly, you will see that we attack all nationalities on policies and statements, not on race. It’s just too bad that Republicans have weak management that follow nitwits instead of leading with innovative policies. We promised to call out all misinformed wingnuts so that the public can have both sides of the story and not two stories that side with one philosophy.

I am preparing for 2010 as I am getting a notion that a third political progressive conservative party will emerge in the near future and the GOP will not know what hit them. Companies have gone bankrupt because they didn’t retool to modernize and the GOP will have the same end because they are so bankrupt of ideas that their demise is inevitable.

OKAY WHAT ABOUT THE PEOPLE THAT DONT TAKE POLLS NO ONE ANSWERS FOR THEM BUT THEM.I HAVENT TAKEN ANY POLLS NEITHER HAVE ALOT OF MY FRIENDS AND THEY FAVOR HEALTH CARE ALSO.I TEND TO THINK THAT RASMUSSEN LEADS MORE TO THE RIGHT,BECAUSE I HAVE SEEN OTHER POLLS THAT FAVOR REFORM AT HIGHER PERCENTAGES..MIKE PENCE SAID ON THE WEEKEND THAT THE DEMSARENT LISTENING TO AMERICANS,OKAY MIKE WHAT PLANET ARE YOU AND THE REST OF YOUR PARTY LIVING ON,IF ITS ANYONE WHO”S NOT LISTENING TO AMERICANS ITS THE GOP PARTY.THEY SAY OBAMA”S NOT DOING ENOUGH FOR THE UNEMPLOYED,BUT THEY TURN AROUND AND BLOCK EXTENDED UNEMPLOYMENT BENIFETS,HOW MANY AMERICANS COULD OF USED THAT MONEY WHILE THEY PULLED THEIR LITTLE STUNT,THEY ARE ALSO AGAINST MINIMUM WAGE INCREASES,WE KNOW WHERE THEY STAND ON HEALTHCARE REFORM.MORE AMERICANS WANT THIS TO HAPPEN AND THE GOP PARTY FAILS TO SEE THAT.MORE AMERICANS DIE FROM NOT HAVING HEALTHCARE.IF WE WERE TO GET A LIST TOGETHER OF ALL THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE DIED FROM NOT HAVING HEALTHCARE I BET IT WOULD HAVE ALMOST AS MAN PAGES AS THE DEMS.HEALTHCARE BILL THEY KEEP WHINNING ABOUT.THE GOP HEALTHCARE BILL IS A JOKE.HOW ABOUT OH I HAPPEN TO KNOW SAYING THE PLEDGE OF ALLEIGANCE ANGERS THE DEMS THEY DONT LIKE TO SAY IT,AND THEN THE MORON FORGETS THE WORDS,BOEHNER GETS THE CONSTITUTION MIXED UP WITH THE DECLERATION OF INDEPENDENCE,.WELL WE THE PEOPLE THAT WANT HELTHCARE ALSO HAVE THE RIGHT TO SAY WE DOSO OUR OPINION COUNTS TOO.,AND EVER SINCE THIS PASED IN CONGRESS THEY”VE BEEN OUT THERE TRYING TO SHOOT IT DOWN,YOU CANT BURST THE BUBBLE,THEY MIGT HAVE TO CHANGE A FEW THINGS WHEN IT GETS TO THE SENATE,BUT A BILL WILL PASS,AND BLESS THE ONE GOP CONGRESSMAN WHO VOTED FOR IT BECAUSE LIKE HE SAID IT WASNT ABOUT HIM IT WAS ABOUT HIS PEOPLE IN HIS DISTRICT,HE VOTED FOR IT BECAUSE HE KNEW THEY WERE POOR AND NEEDED IT,ONE THING THE GOP CARES NOTHING ABOUT,ITS JUST THEIR BASE THAT IS ALL THE REST OF AMERICA THEY DO NOT SEE OR HEAR.WHAT UP WITH THAT MIKEY??

  10. Tennessean says:

Anomaly and Jovial, So it’s okay to claim those that disagree with Obama do so only because they are racist. But to make the same claim about Liberals attacking Steele is “desperate”.

Okay. I see the difference now. Thanks for enlightening me.

  11. Frances says:

The issue here, TN, is not about Michael Steele as a person, but his statements as an official spokesperson for the GOP. If his statements are to be taken as the official stance of the GOP, then it amounts to the GOP aligning itself with a group they would have distanced themselves from not long ago.

One wonders how many moderate Republicans will jump ship rather than align themselves with a group they may have reservations about. One also wonders how many moderate Republicans will not have a choice in the matter.

  12. Tennessean says:

Frances, “The issue here, TN, (Liberals/Dems) is not about Michael Steele (Barack Obama) as a person, but his statements (statements and actions) as an official spokesperson for the GOP. (as President of the United States)

Now. If it works for you guys, it should also work for me. You can no longer consider me simply a “Racist” because I disagree with the actions and policies of this President.

Gee!! I’m learnin’ so much my brain is about to explode!!

  13. Frances says:

TN, it’s not disagreeing with someone that makes them a racist per se, it’s the reasons why they are disagreeing and the manner in which they express their disagreement. For example, portraying Pres. Obama as Hitler because you disagree about health care reform is not racist, though it is inappropriate. Portraying him as a squatting witch doctor IS racist and you know it.

You know the difference and I know the difference. If you insist on projecting racism onto people who are clearly not racist, then I have to wonder why you would do that?

And kindly do not add your own words to my comments when you enclose them in quotes.

  14. Tennessean says:

Frances, there is no difference. I don’t insist on projecting racism on anyone. I just choose to point out and demonstrate the hypocrisy of liberals whenever I can. Wonder as you will. But wonder why you and/or liberals get to decide what is racist and what is not. It just goes right back to the “beard” versus “whiskers” rationale.

I frame and construct my comments as I wish. Unlike you and some others, I rule out profanity and that’s about it. If you think I have done or said anything beyond what you or anyone else here has done or said, I invite you to read back over some of these posts and correct your thinking.

  15. Frances says:

TN – Do you believe that all liberals believe that ANY disagreement with Pres. Obama is racisim? Do you really believe that? If you do, then YOU ARE WRONG and suffer a bias that prohibits you from perceiving the reality of the Democratic Party. If you don’t believe that portraying Pres. Obama as a squatting witch doctor is racist, then YOU ARE WRONG and appear to have a very high tolerance for bigotry in others. Such imagery has nothing to do with health care or Obama policies. Putting him in surgical garb is not racist – that is satirical. See the difference? To say that all who disagree with Pres. Obama are only disagreeing with him because he is black, is to imply that they would agree with him if he were white. That is far from true. Even the true racists, squatting in the grass with their squatting witch doctor signs wouldn’t agree with liberal or centrist policies if Obama were white. But that doesn’t make them not racist.

To say that we disagree with Steele because he is black is to say that we would agree with him if he were white, or that we wouldn’t criticize the GOP for their choice of aligning with Tea Party protesters if a white guy had stood up and made the statements. I think even you have to be honest enough to admit that that would never happen.

  16. Tennessean says:

Frances asks, “Do you believe that all liberals believe that ANY disagreement with Pres. Obama is racisim?”

Not all. But I think the majority of you do. You are just as entrenched in your “Liberal Mindsets” as any Conservative might be. So you have to find some “reason” that people would disagree with you other than the possibility that they may be just as intelligent and analytical as you are and have just reach a different conclusion.

  17. Anonymous says:

TN, You tend to focus on why you think people think you think the way you do. Maybe it’s because you also tend to focus on why other people think the way they do. If you want others to believe that you think the way you do because of observations you’ve made and experiences you’ve had, then you should convey that respect to others.

In a very real way, you are trying to discourage people (oddly it seems to be the women here) from voicing their opinions by labeling them irrational or mindless. And we’re right here – we can read every word you say. We’re not some polito-celeb who is sucking up the limelight. So, when you accuse us of bashing and attacking women, I have to say that you seem to be projecting something onto us. If we truly hated women, we’d be Republicans.

  18. Frances says:

Sorry, that last comment was from me.
