Canadians would not change their health care…neither would most Europeans. It removes a lot of stress knowing that if you are sick or injured you can go get help, no questions asked. Medications, one price for anything you need. Very quick times to be seen, contrary to false propaganda used here in the US. In England the doctors work for the system…and are very well paid and are happy with their status.

In Switzerland they have options…200+ private insurance companies compete for customers even though the premiums are set every year and are the same for all companies. The conservative government was asked if they would change their health care system and they made it clear, “…the people would hang us if we tried. We are very happy with it.” ( Documentary on Health care last year )

Right on Charlie. The parties on both sides cannot control who decided to run for election. In many cases nut-jobs on both sides come out of the wood work and pay the fee to get their name on the ballot. The parties have nothing to do with this. If one of these kooks wins a primary, the party is pretty much stuck with them. It is the will of the voter, not the party. It does not amount to party nomination as some have suggested when referring to Alvin Green. He was not nominated by anyone but the voters. But that is the way the system works.

That said, once on the ballot in the fall each party will support the candidate chosen by the people to represent that party.

I do not disagree with many Tea Party concerns. I also agree that trying to paint every TP as racists is not fair. But Gregg has not been to all of them and some which have been caught on tape have shown some pretty loud racist elements in the crowd. This is not the same thing as saying the movement is racist, but it does indicate that at these rally’s they don’t do much to remove that element which is becoming the basis for the racist tag being applied to them.

In order to stop the unfair branding these rally’s need to clean up those who are promoting a bad image.

First: we do not have a “health care system” other than Medicaid and Veterans Hospitals. We have an insurance system.

Second: You don’t buy health insurance from the government. They don’t sell health insurance. Private companies sell it. And by the way…that provision was put in to appease Republicans, to make sure their buddies in the insurance system were handed a guaranteed 30 million new paying customers.

The new law means those insurance companies cannot refuse you insurance because of pre-existing conditions or drop you because you get sick. They are regulations on the insurance industry and do not create any new “heath care system”.

Joe the Voter: You’re going to have to read more sources than this blog and the Huff Post. They don’t follow up on things that make them look bad. Alvin Greene won the Democrat primary with 59% of the vote. He IS the Democrat candidate.

I’m hoping his action figures are out by Christmas. I want to get the one of him in his suit.
