Right Wing Buffoons, Racists, Misogynists, Homophobes and Idiots

Ron Reagan sums up a year of wingnuttery.

“It’s been a banner year for conservative idiocy. The ranters, the haters, the bigots, the self-loathing closet cases and prattling greed-heads were all out in force. They’ll be back again next year–you can count on it. As long as there’s money to be made peddling crap, crap peddlers won’t go away. And they’re taking no prisoners…”

I wonder what daddy would think?  You can hear the entire Reagan audio clip here.

Daddy would have fit right in. We seem to forget that the beloved Reagan was a man of many opinions but little self reflections or deep thinking.

  4. Tommy Pane says:

Sandi – Are you inferring that self reflection and deep thinking are traits exclusive to liberals?

Sandi, I disagree, while I had issues with Reagan, back then being conservative meant leaving people alone, now it means the government should tell you who you can marry and others should serve in the Military as long as you talk tough, it means the party had room for Arlen Spector and quite a few Republicans that would now be called RHINOs, that’s whats different about now.

Ronald Reagan also kept journals. He was a journalist before being president. I have read his writings and even when I disagree on a topic, I am impressed by how much he truly did think about things. I know others may not like hearing that but by today’s standards, Reagan would be considered a moderate! Wow! Things have moved far right from Reagan’s views! Even his son admits this.
