But the Palin assault keeps getting more surreal, and more intriguing. Wednesday night came the news that Palin wouldn’t rule out the idea of Fox News host (and professional paranoid) Glenn Beck as a possible 2012 running mate.
“I can envision a couple of different combinations, if ever I were to be in a position to really even seriously consider running for anything in the future, and I’m not there yet,” Palin told Newsmax. “But Glenn Beck I have great respect for. He’s a hoot. He gets his message across in such a clever way. And he’s so bold — I have to respect that. He calls it like he sees it, and he’s very, very, very effective.”
In the unlikely event that this was ever to be, Obama takes all 50 states easily…and Canada and Mexico.

Beck, I think, has too much in his background to ever run for office. I think his best function right now and for the future is to just keep driving you guys bsfc.
Palin….I’m not sure about yet. 4 years ago, an inexperienced politician burst on the scene with little to his credit other than a stirring speech, a couple of mediocre books, an undistinguished Senate term and little more. No executive experience. No managerial experience. Absolutely nothing in his resume to suggest he was qualified for the office of the most powerful man in the world. Today, he’s President of the United States.
Truth is stranger than fiction.
On a totally unrelated note, if any of you can lay your bias aside long enough, Glenn Beck’s Book, “A Christmas Sweater” is a very good read. Especially for the holidays. It is apolitical. And in spite of anything else he may or may not be, at least in this book, he did a good job. I would recommend it for anyone just looking for a warm and fuzzy feeling kinda book.
“Beck, I think, has too much in his background to ever run for office. I think his best function right now and for the future is to just keep driving you guys bsfc.”
And that is exactly what’s wrong with politics. It matters not to this reader that Beck has a long list of documented lies which he uses to spread fear among his viewers. If the conservative message is a good one, then why resort to lies and distortion of facts in describing the liberal message? Why not attack Democrats with factually based data and opinion instead of half-baked conspiracy theories and “Obama hates white people” idiocy?
For people like Beck and this reader, it’s not about truth. It’s a game for them and nothing more.
I’m not sure if this story involves his personal life or not but it remains that it is a good kid’s book and he is great in this storytelling.
And this explains Beck’s mindset: make a topic sensational enough and the story will make him money. His storytelling enamours people and he forgets that the kid in people are his following.
mario, again, you guys take yourselves WAY too seriously and miss the mark on virtually every thought.
I think, as best I can recall, at some point Beck had difficulties with substance abuse. That is what I was referring to.
If Palin gets an army of researchers and investigators sent to her state, and 1 fact checker per 40 pages of her book, can you IMAGINE the smear campaign you people would mount for someone like Beck??
It’s YOUR position and belief that everything that comes out of Beck is a lie or distortion. Not mine. So obviously, I wouldn’t be referring to YOUR misconceptions and contorted beliefs.
I have read Obama’s books. I’m not sure he is particularly enamored with “Whites” in general and he has stated so repeatedly. I don’t need Beck, or for that matter, Piperni, to tell me that which I can discern for myself. Maybe YOU should up your research efforts a bit. ;-)
I know I am in an adversarial climate. I’m not perfect, but I rarely state something unless I can back it up. And if I venture only my “opinion”, I try to clarify it as being only “opinion”.
jovial, what ever you say. When I and my rabidly liberal significant other read it, neither of us were looking for bogey men behind trees. We simply found it to be a good read.

I never argued about the read.
The other comment was on Beck’s world. Outlandishly childish with a lot of temper tantrums.
….and I was just trying to be nice and recommend a nice read.
Le Palin is toying with us by saying that. I’d love to see Palin/Beck 2012 happen!
