Palin faced a choice–seriousness or celebrity–and she chose the latter.
But while Palin’s choice means that we’ll be spared of the prospect of Senator Palin or President Palin, that doesn’t mean that we’ll be rid of her any time soon. In fact, Palin’s choice augurs a longer period of relevance for her. Defeated politicians fade away (Mike Dukakis anyone?), but, in this day and age, celebrities, even talentless ones, linger. Less like pneumonia and more like a certain communicable disease, I’m afraid Sarah Palin is one of those things that will always be with us.
The reason for Palin’s staying power will be the same thing that keeps a celebrity like Richie’s old running partner, Paris Hilton, in the spotlight. No, not a sex tape, thank God, but something related: shamelessness. These days, once someone has attained a certain level of celebrity (as Hilton and Palin have), if that person is willing to say or do anything (as Hilton and Palin are), then it’s pretty much impossible to lose it (which Hilton and Palin won’t).

Paris Hilton has shown many a time that she is so full of mirrors, gloss and tinsel that its hard to keep going and has on occasion fallen from grace. Palin is new at this but in time will fall hard also
It is a matter of time …time that we need to bear to see her on the precipice sooner than later
Great picture Mario. I think I would of had something else in place of the gum under the shoe. Something more like the sort of thing you’d encounter when walking the dog.
Why is it sexist to talk about Palin? Because she’s a woman? If a man made as many stupid remarks, would it be sexist to mock him? Was it sexist for cons to ridicule Hillary? Someone’s Palin infatuation is showing.
Tony, Sure. MY infatuation is showing? I’m not the one putting up 3 or 4 blogs a day about her.
What amazes me more than anything else about her is the extent of the hatred and vitriol from the left about a person y’all consider so stupid and ineffectual.
“Palin is a phenomenon, and honest liberals would be well-advised to read her work and understand her appeal, just as conservatives should read “Dreams From My Father” to understand the mind of Bill Ayers.

The national debt is piling up like sales of Palin’s book, and the elite don’t understand how either of them got so huge. Taxpayers are trapped on a Willy Wonka boat, hurtling through psychedelic clouds of uncontrolled spending, while the President sits in the back and mumbles nonsense rhymes about imaginary jobs created in non-existent Congressional districts. The people lining up to buy Palin’s book are not the authors of this careless, carnivorous government… but they are expected to pay for it. The assertion that someone who connects with them, and understands their beliefs, is unwelcome on the national stage is just the latest variation of “Shut up and pay your taxes.” No one should accept that attitude from a government as incompetent as the journalists who fawn over it.”

Well, with Palin, the possibility is that her celebrity will be sidelined by inconvenient trials for her many frauds. We can but hope.

This Palin fixation is even more bewildering than your Bush Derangement Syndrome.
What is amazing to me is the way women merrily join in in what is such a blatant, sexist attack.

Tennessean has wet dreams of stuffing the turkey in that last picture.

anteater, that’s an extremely classless remark. Kinda says more to your character than anything else. What a sad, sordid little person you must be.
Would love to play with you, no time. Go easy on sarah, err, the turkey.
It would be kind of silly talking about someone nobody wanted to talk about.
@anteater – please just stop. :|
Ok, call me classless. I thought what anteater said was funny (no offense TN). I’m still laughing.

Tommy, Yeah….but which glass of Thanksgiving wine are you on?? :-)
It’s all beer for this hillbilly.
From Anomaly: @Tommy: You most definitely aren’t “classless”. You have a healthy sense of humor & these days, humor is a necessity.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
BTW, if anyone wants a good beer recommendation, try Erdinger. It’s one of the best German beers I’ve ever tried.
I heard of Humdinger but Erdinger ? Not sure I can get that around here
You may have to special order it through your beer supplier. It’s only a treat though. It costs about $27 a 12 pack!
Oh, but they’re 25 ounce bottles, so I guess it’s not that bad.
