John McCain On Screwing America

.

The entire how-they-chose-Palin-to-be-VP matter says so much more about John McCain than it does about Palin.  From the Schmidt 60 Minutes interview we get…

“Roughly up to a week before the convention, we were still talking very seriously about Senator Lieberman. But once word leaked out that he was under serious consideration, the blowback was ferocious,” Schmidt remembered.

“Ferocious,” because many conservatives thought Lieberman was far too liberal. Schmidt says they feared the Republican National Convention might reject him.

McCain couldn’t risk that, so they needed a last-minute replacement.

And this from the book “Game Change”…

….McCain’s campaign manager, Rick Davis, spotted Sarah Palin while searching the Internet for possible female vice presidential candidates.

“Rick Davis saw one interview she did with Charlie Rose where she was very much the Sarah Palin that people find appealing. She was lively, she was engaging, she popped off the screen. And he said, ‘Wow, she jumps out,’” Halperin said.

“McCain boxed himself in. He needed a game-changing pick for vice president. And that left them with a last minute pick of someone who was, to McCain, a virtual stranger, and was, to his senior staffers, an absolute stranger,” he added.

So the VP of the United States could have been a woman discovered on Google by a desperate campaign willing to do anything to win.  What does that say about the judgment and decision-making ability of a man who wanted to be president?  Not much.  I like this line from John Amato

Why didn’t Davis just go to Hannidate or Match.com to find a running mate for McCain? I’m sure Laura Ingraham would have jumped at the chance too.

When McCain was asked by Matt Lauer if his vetting process of Sarah Palin was woefully inadequate, McCain responded, “I wouldn’t know.” He followed up by saying he didn’t care. For a man who ran his campaign slogan as “Country First” it seems he must have been talking about Canada.

  3. Anomaly100 says:

Only today in a comment I read someone saying (again) that Obama isn’t qualified. McCain intentionally set out to have a female VP, not the best person for the second highest office in the land. He wanted the Hillary voters & now the GOP has a token black man as their pretend Chairman. We know who their de facto leader is, don’t we?

Oh there’s a cure but it involved urine of bear and some other like ingredients. Then we will have to get the cure into the Fox water system and air filtration system…

PLUS JOHN MCCAIN WAS LAUGHING ,HE KNEW ALL ALONG HOW STUPID SHE WAS ITS A BIG JOKE ON AMERICA,TWO MAVERICKS ONE STUPID,AND ONE STUPID FOR PICKING SOMEONE STUPID! SHE DOESNT THINK ITS A BIG DEAL AND PEOPLE WILL GET OVER IT. NOW FOX WILL PROBALLY GIVE HER BOOKS TO READ,SHE WILL PROBALLY TAKE SOME HISTORY LESSONS,BUT I DONT THINK ITS GOING TO DO ANY GOOD,SHE HAS HER OWN MIND AND ITS LIKE A BIMBO MIND EVERYTHING THAT SHES GOING TO LEARN WILL GET ALL TWISTED UP AND UPSIDE DOWN IN THAT BRAIN OF HERS,ITS ALREADY BEEN PROVEN,THEY WORKED WITH HER BUT IT STILL COMES OUT LIKE A BABBLING BIMBO YES IT IS TRUE SHE IS STUPID.

  3. [...] Yes, facts are a stubborn thing and the facts are that seventy-two year old John ‘Me First’ McCain put self before country in selecting bubblehead Palin as his VP.  No one expects him to criticize his own decision but it would serve him well to keep his mouth shut as opposed to blatantly lie as he’s doing.  Every story which has come out of the campaign, many by his own people, clearly indicates that there was very little vetting done on Palin.
