Off for my monthly haircut which is always done with a certain amount of reluctance and fear. My guy (my sons have dubbed him The Artist) is reliable about 70% of the time. The 3 out of 10 times when he blows it is when I swear I’ll never get my hair cut there again. But I always go back. I figure a 70% hit rate is pretty damn good in the world of haircuts.
I’ve always loved this song. Open thread. .

HAIR
She asks me why…I’m just a hairy guy
I’m hairy noon and night; Hair that’s a fright.
I’m hairy high and low,
Don’t ask me why; don’t know!
It’s not for lack of bread
Like the Grateful Dead; darling
Gimme a head with hair, long beautiful hair
Shining, gleaming, steaming, flaxen, waxen
Give me down to there, hair!
Shoulder length, longer (hair!)
Here baby, there mama, Everywhere daddy daddy
CHORUS:
Hair! (hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair)
Flow it, Show it;
Long as God can grow it, My Hair!
Let it fly in the breeze and get caught in the trees
Give a home to the fleas in my hair
A home for fleas, a hive for bees
A nest for birds, there ain’t no words
For the beauty, the splendor, the wonder of my
CHORUS
I want it long, straight, curly, fuzzy
Snaggy, shaggy, ratty, matty
Oily, greasy, fleecy, shining
Gleaming, steaming, flaxen, waxen
Knotted, polka-dotted; Twisted, beaded, braided
Powdered, flowered, and confettied
Bangled, tangled, spangled and spaghettied!
O-oh, Say can you see; my eyes if you can,
Then my hair’s too short!
Down to here, down to there,
Down to where, down to there;
It stops by itself!
doo doo doo doo doot-doot doo doo doot
They’ll be ga-ga at the go-go
when they see me in my toga
My toga made of blond, brilliantined, Biblical hair
My hair like Jesus wore it
Hallelujah I adore it
Hallelujah Mary loved her son
Why don’t my Mother love me?

I noticed your pic of the 40th anniversary edition of the Hair Album.
Just a suggestion..Hope you do a 40th anniversary tribute to Woodstock. It’s coming up soon. I think Aug 15th ish. It was more than just a wet concert in Bethel NY. It was. we thought the beginning of a new age of peace, love, and harmony. Plus I got in big trouble going AWOL from my job to be there.
The genius of George Carlin. I love this bit. Actually I love just about anything he did. Sometimes I laugh so hard tears come to my eyes. Especially now that he’s gone. We lost him much too soon.
So now we have something else in common. What do you say about that? A guy that posts a George Carlin vid can’t be all that bad.
You should take the song’s advice and let it grow.

Hank,

I’ll see what I can do with Woodstock.
