  1. Tommy Pane says:

    “Today [11/6/09], Ranking Member of the House Ways and Means Committee Dave Camp (R-MI) released a letter from the non-partisan Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) confirming that the failure to comply with the individual mandate to buy health insurance contained in the Pelosi health care bill (H.R. 3962, as amended) could land people in jail.  The JCT letter  makes clear that Americans who do not maintain ‘acceptable health insurance coverage’ and who choose not to pay the bill’s new individual mandate tax (generally 2.5% of income), are subject to numerous civil and criminal penalties, including criminal fines of up to $250,000 and imprisonment of up to five years.”

    Why do I feel like we’re being governed by the Borg?

    “Resistance is futile”

  2. Tennessean says:

    As I view the pictures and stories of the young, innocent lives taken at Ft. Hood, I have to wonder. (19, 21, 22 years old. One a young pregnant female soldier.)

    I wonder how many more innocent lives will be sacrificed on the sick altar of Liberal, Political Correctness?

    Whether it was a strict “Terrorist” act or not, it has all the earmarks. And this guy had drawn attention and should have already been disciplined and discharged. But he was a protected species. Why? Because sick, perverted, liberal, left mentality labels the use of common sense as somehow evil. As wrong.

    1977 Muslims serving in the U.S. Armed Forces today. Every one of them should be suspended from active duty immediately and placed under surveillance until they can be cleared. F–k your sick, twisted sense of Political Correctness!

    If they, as Hasan did, support Islam, Suicide Bombers and aggressively and actively speak out against the war, discharge them.

    Heck. For my part. Execute them.

    This is why you people have the capacity to make me sick. And when your perverted mentalities strike back at civilized people in the form of these atrocities, you start running around trying to find some way to mitigate your responsibility and blame it on something, ANYTHING else. Fox News. Glenn Beck. Bill O’Reilly. Teabaggers. Birthers.

    The Deaths at Ft. Hood lie at the feet of Liberal, Left Ideology. Hug a tree is innocent enough. Hug a terrorist is criminal.

  3. Tennessean says:

    http://vermont.realestaterama.com/2009/11/06/welch-supports-house-passes-unemployment-benefit-extension-first-time-homebuyer-credit-ID080.html

    Another Idealistic, Liberal mistake.

    Do you guys understand that there is a large segment of people out there that are more than HAPPY and SATISFIED to be unemployed and will REMAIN unemployed as long as they can continue to get PAID to be unemployed??

  4. Jovial says:

    Tennessean,

    You know very well that white american caucasian men have made worse assasinations and atrocities of the young as well as adults and somehow I feel that you think that it’s OK because they were white catholic,protestants or even agnostics. Your twisted perversion of reality is I hope a small minority because we cannot be isolated from the outside world and stay white only. It aint going to work. Your backhill mentality is not going to solve much other than spread hatred in this nation.

    We need to sit back and take a breath because your solution is not what is needed here

    Tommy,

    This is democracy in action and get use to it. We chose this system and until such time as the government is in power,you will have to obey the law.

    Next time you get a traffic ticket,remember no government can rule without law and order.

  5. laurieD says:

    Tennessean shows us how polluted and corrupt the brain becomes when exposed to right wing media. When the Ft. Hood shootings first occurred, he had no opinion. Two days of listening to Fox and the big bad libruls are now to blame. Fox specializes in filling empty heads with garbage and Tennessean demonstrates the point so well.

  6. Tommy Pane says:

    I have a choice to drive my own vehicle on public roads, or not, Jovial. I can take a cab, ride a bike, or call a friend. This health care law will strip me of my choices. It won’t happen overnight, but it will happen.

    When does it end in your mind? When do you stop telling people how they MUST live their lives? I’ll answer that question for you; when you become a target of the laws that you enacted in which to provide you with a perceived, short-term benefit. Our democracy is at a point where 50% of the citizens are thinking only of what will be given them, or given to others. They’re not realizing the cost of those freebies. The cost is loss of choice.

    Think bigger picture Jovial. Stripping people of their right to choose is not a way to promote individual freedom. Retained personal freedom is a benchmark test of an issue upon which I throw my support. What’s your benchmark?

  7. janine says:

    @Tennessean

    so Fort Hood was caused by liberals? you really are one misguided individual, bless your heart. How is this killing any different that white boys who go into office buildings and take out dozens, or bomb a building in Oklahoma……

    You lay every thing you hate or disagree with at the feet of liberals and claim liberals do the same thing —- lay all ills at conservative’s feet. How it this pot/kettle tit for tat blaming game you’ve go going on here helping further any type of discussion?

    Oh, I know, you’ll just come back with how I’m stupid or a remark how you expected better from me, or some other type of deflective pejorative.

    Seriously, Tennessean, I’m more than willing to intelligently debate a topic and …….. wait for it….. keep it topical… (and yes, my IQ test indicates I do have a high degree of intelligence — not just the dishonest intelligence of which you oft accuse me)

    1. white boys are the cause of many many terrorist acts in our own country. Yet you refuse to discuss that, preferring to concentrate on the American that opened fire at Fort Hood and his religious leanings, laying that atrocity at the feet of liberal political correctness……

    That is not even a rational cause and effect

  8. Craig says:

    Wow, Tennessean. That was over the top crazy talk. Just the kind of thought processes when played out in Society that causes people like Hasan to act as he did either individually or as larger groups and nations.

    Maybe it’s time for you to crack your “Good Book” open and re-read the parts that talk about tolerance.

  9. Tennessean says:

    Jovial, and your “solution” and mindset gets us another Ft. Hood or 9/11.

    Sit back, take a deep breath, and equivocate while innocent people die in what should have been anticipated actions.

  10. Tennessean says:

    laurie, and you show us how sick and perverted the liberal mind is. Fair enough??

  11. Tennessean says:

    janine says, “so Fort Hood was caused by liberals?”

    Yes.

    You say, “That is not even a rational cause and effect” and that is absolutely ridiculous and denial of such facts that are known so far. And that is why I find you people sick. From every indication, his ethnicity and religious leanings were compelling in his actions. And you say it’s not a “rational cause and effect”? Sick!!

    What is irrational is the liberal excuse machine that denies the realities of Muslims and Islamic teachings. Yes janine, white boys (you’re bigotry showing?) may have perpetrated atrocities. That is not what we are discussing now. That is not what we are dealing with now and that is such a typical liberal diversion. It distracts us from what is obviously the most imminent danger we face.

    Muslims want to kill infidels. We are all infidels to them. Prudent caution should be exercised.

    Furthermore, you say, “I’m more than willing to intelligently debate a topic…” Pardon me if I have a hard time believing you when perusing your posts and observing the intolerance you exhibit and the names you call anyone that disagrees with liberal/left ideology. When those insults and names disappear from your commentary, I will consider you ready to do as you say.

  12. Tennessean says:

    Craig, I am not a big proponent of the “Good Book”. And if I were, I do know that it admonishes, “Eye for an Eye.”

  13. TonyM says:

    Every time radical conservatives like the guy above writes something, it reaffirms my thankfulness in being born with a liberal brain. Imagine what it must be like to go through life with such an ugly, intolerant, hateful attitude. Life must be a bitch.

  14. anteater says:

    Forgive him Tony. You’d be a miserable complaining SOB too if you had to live in a sh*thole like Tennessee.

  15. Craig says:

    @TonyM: Absolutely. Thought processes like his, on both sides, only perpetuate the problem.

  16. janine says:

    @Tennessean,

    Your hypocrisy is showing again. Wanting me to stop some phantom name calling whilst you perpetuate same…..

  17. Tennessean says:

    anteater, seek forgiveness for yourself and those like you for the deaths of the 13 innocent people at Ft. Hood. Or for the next act of Muslim or Islamic Murder.

  18. Tennessean says:

    janine, and your dishonesty is showing. Crocodile tears from the inventor and perpetuater of “batsh-tfkingcrazy” herself

  19. Tennessean says:

    Instead of you people simply attacking me and what I think, why don’t you try explaining why Hasan, with his known proclivities toward radical Islamic Activity and opposition to the war and even encouraging fellow Muslims to fight against American Soldiers was still in the Army. Still in possession of firearms. And still had access to a Military Base teaming with innocent victims?

  20. janine says:

    @Tennessean

    I called a public figure and a group of public teabaggers etc., batshitcrazy. I have never called a commenter that, Mr. Inventor and perpetuater of ’stupid’ ‘intellectually dishonest’ ‘you people’ ‘you are sick’ and any other number of perjoratives you call me and other commenters in these pages… Careful there, your dishonesty is showing

  21. janine says:

    @Tennessean

    Instead of attacking “you people” why don’t you try explaining why Hasan’s commanding officer didn’t see any warning signs, why don’t you explain why he was allowed to be in possession of firearms

  22. Tennessean says:

    janine, I presented my views as to why. All you have done is slight me.

    I repeat, he was a “protected species”. We were too busy being politically correct and going out of our way not to offend his “Muslimness”.

    Aside from that, I attack “you people” because “you people” are a large part of the problem as I see it.

    janine, you are one of the worst on here about jumping on the whacko liberal bandwagon no matter where it is headed. Whatever you think of my commentary, if it is true, it would be the mirror image or yours.

  23. BlancaCarta says:

    Janine. Tennessean makes a good point. We all know that Hasan ONLY became radical and wanted out of the army once Barack Obama became president. During Bush’s term, Hasan was in full support of the war and did not pose a threat to anyone. The shooting is definitely the fault of Obama and liberals. Won’t we ever learn?

    Now apologize to Tennessean for doubting his dazzling logic and understanding of the facts. How come this guy doesn’t have his own show on Fox?

    Repeat after me. Liberals bad. Fox News good. Liberals bad. Fox News good. Liberals bad. Fox News good.

  24. janine says:

    @Tennessean,

    all you’ve done is slight me and other commenters under the guise of presenting your views.

    you said so yourself; you attack ‘you people’ because ‘you people’ are a large part of the problem.

    Whatever you think of my commentary, Tennessean, it is the polar opposite of yours, not the mirror image..

    If you truly want a meaningful discussion then do so without employing perjoratives, you may be surprised that people will respond in kind.

    you think I’m the worst on here? Now, that dog won’t hunt and you know it.

  25. janine says:

    @BlanaCarta

    are you an Obama plant trying to indoctrinate us?

  26. Tennessean says:

    janine, yes. I do think you’re one of the worst on here. People like anteater and some of the others don’t try to mask their intention and their lack of ability to discuss intelligently. To their credit, they just blurt it out and there it is. You on the other hand take this faux intellectual, above the fray position. You mewl about why liberals and conservatives can’t have a discussion when it is those that employ your brand of discussion that is the exact reason we can’t have reasonable debate.

    Right now, I’m offended that yet again, innocent Americans have been sacrificed on the altar of Liberal induced and infused, political correctness. For me, it’s not a time to mince words. I’m telling you what I feel bluntly.

    I’ve spent days listening to you go on and on about “BATSH-TFKINGCRAZYBIRTHERSTEABAGGERSFOXBECKOREILLY” and I ask you, “What’s the difference?”

    There isn’t any and I’m not interested in your lame, self serving excuses.

    Gotta do some work. It’s been fun.

  27. Tennessean says:

    Blanca, if you want a response, (well, at least from me) post something intelligent.

    No one has said anything you infer.

  28. Anomaly100 says:

    @Tennessean: I want proof you are a real human person and not a fictional additional username or Republican cartoon. You appear to be the exact stereotypical Republican that thinks they are always right, never agree with anyone & as stubborn as an ass. The subject of birth certificates comes up often with your ilk, so that said, let’s see it. I’ll bet it says: “Tool of Dick Armey & Freedom Works”. By the way, TN, you are not the judge of who is & who isn’t intelligent. You are obviously, not smart enough for that job. You defend ANYTHING Republicans do. We do not defend ALL Democrats. It’s called being an individual and not part of a collective mind with no individual thoughts. It must be lonely. :cool:

  29. Anomaly100 says:

    @Janine: Once more I see, “you’re one of the worst on here.” Imagine being in Germany & a Nazi calls you one of the worst. That would be sweet. The Republicans use the Hitler meme with Obama, so it’s an open field & the shoe sure fits the Republicans. Their party embraces the xenophobic mentality. Savor the moment! That “Stupid” comment is a compliment. Consider the source. :lol:

  30. janine says:

    @Tennessean

    wow, you’ve spent days listening to me go on and on about about “BATSH-TFKINGCRAZYBIRTHERSTEABAGGERSFOXBECKOREILLY, when I haven’t used that terminology in quite some time.

    You and I’ve been round and round these comment pages for several months, you under differing guises

    You mewl and employ your brand of discussion and that is the exact reason we can’t have reasonable debate.

  31. Tennessean says:

    janine, re: wow, you’ve spent days….

    That is simply untrue.

  32. Tennessean says:

    Anomaly, why should I have any desire to prove anything to you?

  33. janine says:

    @Tennessean

    wow, and now you want to rewrite recent history, typical conservative doublespeak behavior.

  34. Tennessean says:

    janine, ball game to watch. Take care. And save your effort on those Batsh-tcrazy liberal talking points for someone who might be impressed.

  35. janine says:

    @ Tennessean

    me thinks thou doth protest too much!

  36. Anomaly100 says:

    @Tennessean: Fine, then I’ll just picture you as a cartoon, without the sense of humor. I’m thinking…Daffy Duck! That’s the one! Have fun watching the ball game. I’m having a great time watching the Health Care bill get passed. Ahhh, it’s a great day! ;-)

  37. Anomaly100 says:

    @Janine: She can’t rewrite recent history. She can’t write anything without rifling through the pages of a dictionary to attempt to appear intelligent. :eek:

  38. Tennessean says:

    janine, no problem as I think you say too much and nothing at the same time. Either it’s a very creative trick or you are studying “Anomaly Writing Styles 101″.

  39. Tennessean says:

    Anomaly, perhaps therein lies the functional intellectual difference in you and I.

    An exciting Ball Game intrigues me.

    You are intrigued by this:

    “Congress is so strange. A man gets up to speak and says nothing. Nobody listens. Then everybody disagrees.” – Boris Marshalov

    Let me guess. You were one of those 3 people watching C-Span at midnight on a Saturday Night?? ;-)

  40. janine says:

    @Tennessean,

    Since I’ve never been accused of turning creative tricks please know I was studying the “Tennessee Pejorative Style” so telling me that you think I say too much and nothing at the same time is just reflective of your own commentary style……

  41. Tennessean says:

    janine, accusing you of turning any kind of tricks would be beneath any commentary I would consider acceptable. ;-) And I would be among the first to come to the defense of your honor.

    Besides, “Tennessee Pejorative Style” is the advanced course. You have to take the basic “Anomaly Empty Headed Comments” course first in order to qualify.

  42. janine says:

    @Tennessean,
    Although Anomaly100 can hold her own here, you should be aware that Anomaly100’s comments are empty headed only to you. Anomaly100 is neither empty headed nor stupid, as you so oft accuse.

    But then, you are the self appointed Judge

  43. Anomaly100 says:

    @Janine: You are very kind. Really. Thing is, anything that dolt says about you or me that’s in a negative light, is great. She loved George W Bush so I’m glad she doesn’t like Obama. I don’t want Pres Obama to be anything like Cheney’s puppet. She says you’re one of the worst & that’s brilliant, because she defeneds Liz Cheney & her war profiteering Daddy. Anything she likes, I don’t. I respect you & have absolutely none for her. So, it all works out. Everytime she sifts through Webster’s, then writes her little comment, it makes me proud to be a liberal. These days, it sucks to be a Republican & she only confirms that for us.

    Democrats try to admit when they are wrong. We did not defend Rod Blagojevich OR his hair! We do not defend the blue doggies. They can have the ones we don’t want. I’ve learned a little bit from the Tennesseans in the Republican Pary & it’s not about Dictionary usage. I’ve learned that if you keep the corrput,the greedy & the war profiteers, you get a corrupt & greedy party that wants a war. So, I’ll let Tennessean defend anything Republican, because it makes her look “stupid”, and us? We’re looking pretty good. (even without a Thesaurus obsession.) :cool:

  44. Tennessean says:

    janine, and anomaly comes back and proves my point. I have a begrudging respect for most of your commentary. I just find you are sometimes way too easy to jump on whatever liberal bandwagon rolls out for the day, or moment.

    Anomaly’s comments tend to run like some little “hanger on to the schoolyard bully”. “Yeah. Yeah. Yeah Spike. Go get ‘em. You tell ‘em Spike!”

    (Janine as Spike. Anomaly as Chester)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ov-1S8Xxd94&feature=related

  45. janine says:

    @Tennessean

    *heavy sigh*

  46. Tennessean says:

    janine, awwwwwwww….. come on now. The Spike and Chester cartoon thing was much funnier than any of the more insipid comments made by me or anyone else on here!!

    Come on! Have a sense of humor! Give a Brother credit for creative thinking at least!! ;-)

  47. janine says:

    @Tennessean,

    I have a sense of humor…..I just didn’t find that comparison humorous…. if you want credit you’ll have to creatively work a bit harder Tenn….

  48. Tennessean says:

    janine, well, I apologize to you for the “bulldog” thing, but upon reading anomaly’s comment that really was the first thing that came to mind. No malice intended. At least not to you.

  49. janine says:

    @Tennessean

    no need to apologize, Tenn, I didn’t take offense. I do understand you meant no malice. Humor is subjective, right… No worries

  50. Anomaly100 says:

    @Tennessean:

    And I mean no malice by this. It’s just a little joke & it did remind me of you a bit:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49xSaGM9stQ&feature=fvw

    ;-)

  51. UNDERSTANDING says:

    …stop children what’s that sound…..

    Where has the music gone?

    Sadness indeed, that this country is not, does not, have or feel the pain of the war as we the baby boomers experienced during the horrendous Vietnam war. This lack of pain and direct involvement is what I believe to be the apathy in our current music. With Vietnam the direct involvement that we experienced was the compulsory draft that made each and every girlfriend, boyfriend, sister, brother, mother, father, uncle, teacher… you name it, involved in the war. We don’t have that today so for some people the war is a foreign event that has nothing to do with them. When I talk to neocons and I discuss the war they cannot relate even when they have children that will be of age in 5-6 years. I think the obligatory draft makes a big difference. Also the war in Vietnam reached 550 K US dead and over 220 K South Vietnamese dead which is far beyond the death toll of the current wars. I am not endorsing the current indifference and lack of concern, but yet see why it is happening. But Americans beware, because if the situation aggravates we might have to recur to the all draft policies and then maybe people will pay attention. War with Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan…. Or who knows who else.

    I miss the music also… I woke up singing one of the songs this morning “stop children what’s that sound everybody knows what’s going down”…..
