Three months of battle with my no-spam software is finally over. Relief.
As some of you might be aware, for the last number of months comments containing the words socialist or socialism were being directed to a moderation queue and I had no idea as to why. A ridiculous number of hours have been spent searching the code looking for a clue as to why a relatively harmless word like socialism would be regarded as spam by the software. The search is now over.
The culprit was the word cialis, a word I had placed in my blacklist about four months ago as a way of combating the high number of spammers wishing to promote ED cures on my blog. What I neglected to note at the time was that any word which contained the subword cialis, would also be automatically blacklisted. And so it went with soCIALISm and soCIALISt.
So to all my right-wing buddies out there, regardless of any issues you might be experiencing with either cognitive or erectile dysfunction, comment away and rest assured that writing “Obama is a socialist, nazi, communist, fascist pig” will no longer get you moderated. How wonderful is that?

Horrible pain emanating from my left ear this morning. Not sure what it is but it might be some sinus blockage. I’m googling ‘ear pain’ as I write. The entire ear lobe is sensitive to my touch and any tilting of my head causes me to scream out and call out for my mother.

I’m going to spend a quiet morning and then look forward to spending the afternoon with the kids on yet another Fathers Day. I was thinking yesterday how unfortunate it is that I did not keep at least one of the many paper neckties the children made for me over the years. I’d proudly wear it today as I did back then.

Sleep is not my thing. I’m usually up before 7 AM which is great except for the fact that I usually get to bed way after midnight. I might have to rethink this anti-sleep crusade I’m on. It’s catching up with me. I woke up after 9 this morning and last time that happened I was 18 months old.
