Latest Poll Numbers: They Still Don’t Like Romney

Mitt Romney - Not Liked : http://mariopiperni.com/

The numbers keep pointing to one unavoidable truth: Mitt Romney’s primary obstacle in beating out Barack Obama this November is no one other than himself. Whether people plan on voting for Romney or not, they just don’t like him much.

From a new Washington Post/ABC News poll:

Among Republicans, only 41 percent hold a “strongly favorable” view of Romney. This compares to Obama’s 61 percent “favorable view” among Democrats. What all this means is that Romney’s only hope of winning hinges on a campaign strategy that calls for using every dirty trick, smear, innuendo, spin and blatant lie they can pull out of their ass to help paint a picture of Barack Obama as an incompetent, know-nothing, tyrant out to destroy America. It’s all about ensuring that the electorate hates Barack Obama more than they dislike Mitt Romney.

As for this illustration, it’s truer now than ever. I’m predicting it’ll end in a knockout. What do you think?

  1. redState girl says:

I think the Romney campaign doesn’t have to resort to lying. Obama’s disastrous record speaks for itself.

  2. Nivi says:

    Well redstate,,,
I think anyone with a functioning brain knows Congress is more responsible for keeping America in a recession then just one man named Obama,,,, But what ever helps you sleep at night =)

  3. redState girl says:

We’re in the worst recovery of a recession EVER!! Obama is the president and you might not like it, but the buck stops at his desk.

  4. Gary D. says:

Just curious redState girl, if you consider Obama’s record as a disaster, how on earth would you describe Bush’s term in office?

  5. Sydney says:

Oh redstate……aren’t you just the cutest little bundle of rightwing fox news talking points!!!! So precious.
I’m sure that you must be very busy spreading your words of wisdom all over the internets, but if you could, how much I would appreciate it if you could spell it out in language that us foolish liberals might comprehend exactly what is it that President Obama did that destroyed our country.

  6. Carol says:

Ah, dear redState…Please check out the graph of past recession, google an article, just LOOK IT UP….there you will find that in most others, the Presidents and Congress issued “STIMULUS” to the states to INCREASE PUBLIC EMPLOYEE ROLES as the PRIVATE SECTOR jobs dried up…even Ronald Reagan. This President, without all the necessary data yet, working with Congress, passed a stimulus bill which included the first of many TAX CUTS and STIMULUS to the states to retain teachers, firefighters and police…supported around 2 million jobs. Once the data was all tabulated and released, it became clear that more STIMULUS was needed, but Congress would have none of it. States began laying off public workers…if we had behaved in a similar fashion to past recessions, and the workers in the states were still on the job, our unemployment would be closer to 7%.
The President also wrote a Jobs Bill last Fall…Congress would have none of that either. Our infrastructure is crumbling around us and still, all because they made a pact on the day the President took office, Congress (and you know very well WHO I mean) rails against and fillibusters EVERYTHING just to make this President look bad. Meanwhile, millions of Americans, even their constituency, suffer the loss.
The whole country, Dem and R, should be screaming MAD at the injustice. Why do you think Congress has their lowest approval rating in all of history? I’ll give you a clue…it isn’t because of the President.
When you deliberately stand silent and watch the country fall apart around you just to make a political point, I call that disloyal and un-American.

  7. MomCatof9 says:

    Bravo, Carol! Well said!

  8. Nivi says:

Redstate girl, just your typical person with a bumper sticker mentality – I bet she doesn’t even remember October 4, 2008 when Bush JR signed the first of the bailouts of wall-street and the banks,,, Just weeks before Obama came into office… Oh no she forgot all about that… LOL

  9. redState – you said:

I think the Romney campaign doesn’t have to resort to lying.

    Question:

    Then why do they?

As for the Tea Party’s role in all this lack of recovery – you can read about their founding here:

    http://politicsunspun.com/?category_name=gotp-grand-old-tea-party&paged=12

    http://politicsunspun.com/?category_name=gotp-grand-old-tea-party&paged=11

Oh, and the budget meme that keeps going around — it would never pass because of the GOP — because IF it did, the Dems would be able to pass many bills with only 51 votes. And the GOP will have NONE of that.

  10. Carol says:

I hear rumors that Harry, in his new-found audaciousness, will consider the Constitutional option to do away with the fillibuster, which in my mind is un-democratic and allows the opposition party to rule no matter what the electorate says at the ballot box.
I just wish our legislators would find their bravery before they’re about to retire…same for Jay Rock/WV…no offense intended, Senator….after he called out the phony “war on coal” being waged by the rest of the WV Dems.
