So true, Arthur. Which is why I never discuss politics with my tea party in-laws. No amount of logic or facts could hope to penetrate what they earnestly believe they already know. Even chatter about weather is a taboo topic with them. I once noted how cold it was outside and they went off on a rant about global warming being a hoax. I let it go and walked away. No point in trying to fix stupid when it can’t be done.
It is truly amazing how many people will depend on and totally trust science for their transportation, daily sustenance, entertainment, etc. but when it comes down to something really important, like the survival of the human race, they prefer to ignore the overwhelming majority of scientific opinion and believe what they are told by a politician with nothing but an agenda based on short term profits for his/her supporters.
The thing about crazy people is that they seldom know they’re crazy.
