No one likes a pathological liar, especially one who accuses his opponent of lying about the lying. The Romney’s campaign latest attack on Obama has been to accuse the President of lying about Romney’s involvement in outsourcing jobs while at Bain Capital. His defense has been to claim that the outsourcing occurred after he left Bain in 1999. Documents uncovered by the Boston Globe tell a different story.
Government documents filed by Mitt Romney and Bain Capital say Romney remained chief executive and chairman of the firm three years beyond the date he said he ceded control, even creating five new investment partnerships during that time.
Romney has said he left Bain in 1999 to lead the winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, ending his role in the company. But public Securities and Exchange Commission documents filed later by Bain Capital state he remained the firm’s “sole stockholder, chairman of the board, chief executive officer, and president.”
Also, a Massachusetts financial disclosure form Romney filed in 2003 states that he still owned 100 percent of Bain Capital in 2002. And Romney’s state financial disclosure forms indicate he earned at least $100,000 as a Bain “executive” in 2001 and 2002, separate from investment earnings.
The timing of Romney’s departure from Bain is a key point of contention because he has said his resignation in February 1999 meant he was not responsible for Bain Capital companies that went bankrupt or laid off workers after that date.
The slime just keeps on oozing out of Romney. This latest revelation along with his offshore bank accounts, his refusal to release tax returns filed before 2010, his Etch-a-Sketch persona and lack of core convictions, strapping his dog to the roof of his car for a 12 hour drive, bullying and terrorizing a young gay man while in school and more paints a picture of a man more suited to the role of dastardly villain than president of a democracy.
After putting up George W. Bush and John McCain as their presidential nominees, the Republican Party now comes up with Mitt Romney. What more do you need to know about the state of the GOP?

It seems the republicans have a penchant for electing criminals to run this country into the ground.
It’s called schizohrenia, false sense of realty. He should be on meds. LOL
The questions the media fails to ask when they are getting push back from the surrogates is:
Well, if Mitt wasn’t the CEO during this time, then who was? And why didn’t that person sign these filings?
But, of course, they won’t get asked because it might embarrass them when they could only sputter with a non-answer.
Speechless! UK!
This is a man that said that he was unaware of his offshore accounts, that he had no idea where his money was….and this is a man that wants to manage the economy of our country. Make no mistake, the business leaders and the GOP have concluded that their interests would be better served by something other than the democratic system. They actively support anti-democratic ideologies like authoritarianism. GOP leaders ultimately decided their hunger for power was more important then the well being of our country. I wouldn’t count on him to offer any type of truthful explanation about his fininacial situation.
If the Republicans don’t improve their game and Romney doesn’t get his stories straight (pause here while everybody has a good snicker or guffaw), Obama is going to eat him for lunch in the debates.
Tee Hee!
I have to say I’m enjoying all the crap coming out about this guy. Republicans got what they so deserve; a candidate who is nothing but a big lying phony and a perfect poster boy for out-of-touch wealth.
Can’t wait until the debates!
I’m right now listening to Lawrence O’Donnell and they’re talking about Romney’s lies about when he left Bain Capital and lying to the SEC. There’s a possibility there could be an investigation and charges. Wouldn’t that be embarassing for the GOP – to have their Republican presidential candidate get brought up on SEC charges?
So, the Romneyan Shape-shifter’s tenuous grasp of reality (sometimes erroneously equated with the TRUTH) should rightly eliminate his advance to the presidency; which more often than not is won by the candidate that most Americans deserve at a given point in time.
Actually, Willard (his real name) has correctly assessed that the populace is mostly media-mesmerized with remaining brainpower sufficient only the absorb but the thinnest veneer of the barrage of messages. The reality held as TRUTH by most Americans whose heads are in the Fox bubble (and the stats tell us THAT IS, MOST AMERICANS) sadly is the truth of the majority. So, Willard can say anything, merely echoing the brainless hardwiring of the Right-wing No-Nothing crowd of “I got mine an thet’s jes’ fine!” Lies? Nah; occasional misspeaks!
I once spent some time on Grand Cayman where no taxes were imposed by the government and nothing ever seems to get fixed. Most americans really would not want to live under such circumstances, but they might just opt for the gray-templed guy from party-central casting to be our next POTUS.
