After the beating Gingrich took last night, it’s hard to imagine under what scenario he can make a comeback. Florida is going to Romney and for Gingrich to regain the momentum he had coming out of South Carolina would take a miracle or two. Last I heard, God wasn’t granting miracles to lying, hypocritical, influence-peddling, serial adulterers posing as Jesus-loving historians.
Mitt Romney was in top form last night, mock anger and all, standing up to the bully by effectively returning the lies and bullshit which Gingrich has been tossing for the last couple of months with an equal helping of lies and bullshit. After a day which saw the Republican establishment ripping Gingrich into shreds, it appeared that Newt had little in him to battle back.
My personal highlight was CNN’s Wolf Blitzer standing his ground and refusing to let Gingrich get away with his tiresome media-bashing shtick.
UUUM, I am going to do a cross post of this to my page as Mario allows me to do so with full attribution and links. I am really curious if Mr. Sommers would mind my pasting the comments. that link you posted is really great. I would post the link but impact comes with the initial comments.
@ The Pardu, No objections at all from me. Der Spiegel is one of my favorite sources for world news. They may lean slightly to the left but overall I think they are, dare I say it?, fair and balanced.
Gingrich leveraged his max potential in the most conservative state Primary (to date). His success with the help of two very conservative journalist allow him to play is race card hand with full confident and splendor. Juan Williams is better than the feeble questions he nervously posed to Newt. In fact, I suspect if Williams question were not handed to him. He could have directed asked newt about data as to what segment of the population uses food stamps most, albeit with a different picture on a per capita basis. But, Newt is not saying per captia, it would diminish the value of his ‘card’. Evidence of the success of the Juan Williams questioning manifest the very next day with the questioner who referred to Newt, “putting Juan Williams in his place”. Now, in our history where and how are those words uttered most. Additionally, she did not say, “Putting those journalists or putting Williams and King “in their place ” she clearly feed the psyche and paradigm that Newt used to win SC. So, as they said in colonial days, Newt “Shot his Wad”…and has no opportunity to reload. Florida is no South Carolina. Plus Romney prepared. I have never seen a ‘butt pucker’ comparable to the one Newt exp’d’ when Romney threw the investment comments back at him.
Funniest single line EVER! Nice one Mario.
The Republican party is making Americans look like the world’s biggest fools.

CNN is just Faux-lite. I wouldn’t be surprised if Wolf joins Faux at some point.
