The Pathetic Lies of Sharron Angle

.

There is no more ignorant, misinformed, shit-for-brains, fear-mongering, lying fool running for Congress than Nevada’s Sharron Angle.  At a Tea Party rally last week, Angle took the following question from an equally ignorant teabagger.

“I keep hearing about Muslims wanting to take over the United States … on a TV program just last night, I saw that they are taking over a city in Michigan and the residents of the city, they want them out. They want them out. So, I want to hear your thoughts about that.”

Angle’s response.

“…we’re talking about a militant terrorist situation, which I believe it isn’t a widespread thing, but it is enough that we need to address, and we have been addressing it.”

“My thoughts are these, first of all, Dearborn, Michigan, and Frankford, Texas are on American soil, and under constitutional law. Not Sharia law. And I don’t know how that happened in the United States. It seems to me there is something fundamentally wrong with allowing a foreign system of law to even take hold in any municipality or government situation in our United States.”

The woman who affirmed by her response that she believes at least two American cities are currently under Sharia law is now leading Harry Reid by a slight margin in the polls.

A person who believes that demonizing Muslims by way of outright lies is acceptable politics might very well become a United States Senator.

Something is terribly wrong with this country.

BFD. Orthodox Jewish communities frequently have their governing rabbis judge cases that would ordinarily go to civil, family or small claims court, based on the Code of Jewish Law (Shulchan Aruch). Amish communities are largely self-governing. Catholics pretent that they still don’t recognize civil divorce, who knows what the Mormons do, and there are many other self-governing religious groups in this country and the rest of the world.

If a non-Muslim-owned restraune or grocery store in Dearborn decides to feature halal products isn’t that a market-based decision along the lines of Rand Paul’s suggestion that stores are free to discriminate against Blacks?

  3. Rodiogal says:

You are way out in left field,EA. I don’t have time to counter all of this ridiculousness, but I’m sure someone will!:D meant politely, of course.
I attack ideas and misinformation, not the messenger.

  4. Rodiogal says:

    EA,
America is not a Theocracy, and the Amish are not the U.S. government, they are a religious cult. I know first hand, they live down the road from us. Women are nothing but chattel to the elders. I’ll post a link on this later.

    Bye

  5. E.A. Blair says:

    RG,

I did not mean to imply either a current theocracy, nor that the Amish were the US government or trying to take it over. All I was trying to point out is that there are religious groups in the US who govern themselves by their own internal rules without resorting to civil law, and nobody seems to be paranoid about them. I know of no case where Amish or Orthodox Jews have tried to impose their rules beyond their own communities – in fact, the only groups I’ve heard of who actually want to do that are fundie Christians.

  6. dinamic72 says:

I struggle daily with the question are these people intentionally lying or are they really this stupid? Apparently both are true in Sharron Angle’s case.

In the end what matters to me is that people like Angle should never have gotten any serious attention from any serious voter in the first place. When did we become a nation with so many frightened, angry people, willing to follow anyone who will affirm that the bogyman is really in their closets or under their beds?

  7. Rodiogal says:

    EA,

I apologize for reacting too strongly this morning concerning your above comment.

After rereading it, I now see that you were saying, big deal, let them live, right?

That’s the way that I see it too.

  8. E.A. Blair says:

    RG,

Exactly so. In fact, I wondered why you reacted so strongly, but didn’t want to come back half-cocked.

If the 82% of the population of the US that says they’re Christian can’t force public school students into regimented prayer and bible study, how much can the 1% who declare Islam influence national law? (The 82% and 1% figures are from The Association of Religion Data Archives.)

  9. Robert says:

Muslims aren’t the only ones being trashed. Have you seen
comments on news stories concerning the reported attack
    on a U.S. citizen in a lake spanning the U.S.-Mexico. I
shudder to think that people all over the world are reading
this and thinking the U.S. is full of ignorant, racist, xeno-
phobes. On the other hand, since the deliberate “conservative”
attack on public education that now has spanned a couple of generations, perhaps that is exactly what much of the country
has become. That also would explain how Big Money took over
    the government.

  10. There is no more ignorant, misinformed, shit-for-brains, fear-mongering, lying fool running for Congress than Nevada’s Sharron Angle.

Perhaps not, but there is one who is her equal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7mRSI8yWwg (If you guessed it’s Harry Reid, you’d be right.) This race proves my point: voting is immoral!

  11. Meg Jenson says:

For the first time in my life, I am ashamed of America. How can people let this woman get away with these lies?

Better hope you’all stay on her good side or it will be “your religion” next.

  12. Greg says:

“There is no more ignorant, misinformed, shit-for-brains, fear-mongering, lying fool running for Congress than Nevada’s Sharron Angle.” – Yes there is and it is Harry Reid. Everything he said tonight was nothing but lies. He hasn’t taken jobs away from Nevada and hasn’t helped. He couldn’t even stand up to o-bam-a when it came to bad mouthing his state!

  13. shane_c says:

She is not saying these places are under complete sharia law, she’s saying there may be a few courts there that are allowing it in some cases. They are doing this in Europe and Canada, so even if she’s wrong its not a ridiculous thing to think might be happening. and it actually could happen in the future.

The Imam building the ground zero mosque calls the Constitution “sharia compliant” Thats what he means. He thinks theres room for Muslims to live under some aspects of sharia law in the united states, not stoning or hanging gays etc… but parts of it that deal with domestic issues, etc…

  14. Rodiogal says:

Sharon angle proved to the whole country last-night as to who she really is…

This lust for money & power shows itself when she says that no one needs preventative health care such as, Mammograms & Colonoscopies; they save lives!

Preventative measures of any kind conflict with for-profit-health-care and the free-market’s ability to gouge us further.

For-Profit-Health-Care is keeping us sick and broke. Vote Dem!

  15. Rodiogal says:

    To Ned,

Not voting is immoral. What do you hope to gain by flushing yours down the toilet? Your not voting hurts the rest of us. So what, Harry is boring, he’s smarter than Angle and a hell of a lot less dangerous to our freedoms and health!

    Please vote. :D

  16. Loons says:

I live in Michelle Bachmann’s district in Minnesota. Sharon Angle is Bachmann’s equal not her superior (as far as bat-shit craziness).

  17. Radiogal: Need some reasons not to vote? Here are eleven well-reasoned articles on why you should not vote: http://www.voluntaryist.com/nonvoting/.

Follow the links and, please, read the articles. If your mind is open, you may become convinced as I am that voting is indeed immoral.

Your defense of voting is curious. I should vote for Harry Reid because he is less dangerous than Sharon Engle? I see from your remark that you do believe that Harry is dangerous, if less so than Sharon. But I see no rational reason why one would vote for anyone who was even mildly dangerous to one’s well being. Of course you do recognize that it isn’t the person so much as the position they will assume by your vote that makes them dangerous.

You will have to explain how my not voting hurts you or anyone else. In fact, IMHO the contrary is true. Your vote empowers the idiots, whether R or D, Lib or Con, Progressive or Regressive, to use the government to plunder taxpayers for the politicians’ and bureaucrats’ own favorite causes, friends, relatives, and what have you–or rather them. They are all addicted to OPM. What’s OPM, you ask? Well it sounds like opium, it is equally addicting and it stands for other people’s money. You may call the system democracy; I call it mob rule. :)

Btw, did you follow the link in my previous post to the youtube video interview of Harry Reid? Do you really think shit-for-brains Sharon knows less about taxation than Harry? Imagine, a powerful member of the Senate, who doesn’t understand that taxes are NOT assessed and paid voluntarily. You either file your 1040 (assess yourself) and pay, or go to jail. Resist, and the govs may (and in some cases have) kill you.

  18. Rodiogal says:

    Ned,

After reading your acrid response all I can say to you is, “Stay home, the rest of us will vote.”

I never said Harry was dangerous(boring). However your apathy, and many suffer as you, will hurt all of us by letting this nut-case in.

But then you might fancy yourself a cup of tea, huh?

The saddest thing, and I’ve seen this over & over, is to watch people who vote or don’t vote to cut their own throats. I hope that you will wake up.

  19. Rodiogal,

You said Harry was less dangerous than Sharon, which equates to dangerous. The lesser of two evils is nevertheless evil. You said it. I merely agreed, and not because of who he is but rather because of his position. Harry could be as boring as cement and I wouldn’t care, but he has the power to do injury to the least of my brethren and he has done so.

Did you read any of the articles I linked? Do you have an open mind? Do you have the strength of character to consider the ideas of people whose worldviews may be radically different than your own? Did you form your own views after due consideration, or are your ideas molded by others, perhaps your teachers in school? Is it possible that your failure to look to the articles I brought to your attention is an indication of your own apathy? Just wondering.

  20. Rodiogal says:

So many questions, and too little time.

There are only a few weeks left now, and if you think I’m going to join the Tea with their idiot candidates and foreign unknowns backing the Chamber and corps that are trying to buy our country, the answer is not no, it’s HELL NO.

You have one idiot that believes we can just add water to radio-active waste and spread it over the land and sea. Another doesn’t believe in preventative medicine. One says evolution is wrong and mice have human brains. Another wants to put all welfare recipients in empty prisons to intern and retrain them. And, there is one in California that would bring back apartheid so that she could get her toilets clean.

    Do you need more illustrations?

  21. Radiogal, you didn’t answer my questions. And I am the last person that would ever suggest anyone join any party, whether it be the Tea, Dem, Rep, Green, Libertarian, Communist or what have you. I don’t distinguish one from the other. As far as I can tell, they are all after essentially the same thing: OPM. I say, a pox on all parties and political factions.
