The Ugliest Part of America

This is disgusting.

The Marine Corps said Wednesday that it is investigating the origins of a video on the Internet that purports to show Marines in combat gear urinating on the corpses of three Taliban insurgents.

The brief video, which runs for less than a minute, began circulating on Web sites early Wednesday. It depicts four Marines laughing as they relieve themselves while standing over three prostrate bodies.

Responsible parties have condemned the actions of  this small group of soldiers.

Marine Corps:

“The actions portrayed are not consistent with our core values and are not indicative of the character of the Marines in our Corps.”

U.S. Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta who has ordered an investigation:

“I condemn it in the strongest possible terms.”

Senator John McCain:

Here’s a handful of obviously undisciplined young people of the hundred and some thousand Marines that we have. And it makes me so sad. There should be an investigation and these young people should be punished, but it does great damage. It makes me so sad.

And then there’s this bit of vile trash by the bigoted witch of hate, Pam Geller.

Would anyone have CAIRed if Marines urinated on dead Nazi soldiers during WWII? (Anyone besides CAIR and nazis, that is).

I love these Marines. Perhaps this is the infidel interpretation of the Islamic ritual of washing and preparing the body for burial.

What a low-life. And if you wonder what kind of trash Geller attracts, the comment section of her site will give you a clue or two.

I’ve never been prouder to be an American!

…who cares about a bunch of jihadi women-killers? Piss on them? I’d piss on them when they were alive and THEN drop the hammer on them. Why? Because they are EVIL.

I’ve abstracted this video to pure symbolism. It’s actually more gratifying for me to view it as America pissing on The Taliban or Civilization pissing on Islam.

I wish I could rent billboards all over the country and play this 24-7-365. (Do billboards have sound? If they did I’d have the Star Spangled Banner playing along with this.)

If you had to give a face to the ugliest, most ignorant and least tolerant part of America, you need look no further than Geller and her pea-brained followers.

A Little More Islamophobia – ‘Cause You Can’t Ever Have Enough Hate

Saturday quiz: Based on the quote below by a state representative, which of the two major political parties would you guess this person is affiliated with?

Personally, I don’t trust one Muslim in our military because they’re commanded to lie to us through the term called Taqiyya. And if they truly are a devout Muslim, and follow the Quran and the Sunnah, then I feel threatened because they’re commanded to kill me.

And when asked if all Muslims should be forced out of the US military, the state rep. said:

Absolutely, yeah.

Easy one, isn’t it?

Of course.  Only one of the two parties consistently preaches hate, bigotry and intolerance to their followers.  Only one of the two political parties consistently attempts to cloak their hate and circumvention of  the Constitution with talk of national security (“Muslims wish to destroy America”) or Christian bible chatter (“Homosexuality is an affront to God”) – a political party whose members openly boo a gay man serving in the military while applauding the death of a young person unable to pay for health insurance.

The Islamophobic hate speech was that of Tennessee state representative Rick Womick – a Republican.  Surprise.

It should also be noted that Womick was empowered and given a platform to spit out his hate by the people who voted for him.  The label of bigoted vermin belongs as much to them as it does to Womick.  And should one make the claim that they were unaware of Womick’s views before casting their vote, then let them know that apathetic stupidity is as much an indictment of who they are as is bigoted jackass.

Pamela Geller Endorses Cain – now you know he’s toast

I would think that an endorsement from America’s number one Islamophobic, hate-mongering, twisted and overall evil person can’t be a positive thing.

Pamela Geller unloads on Rick Perry and endorses Herman Cain.

The latest eruption in the Cain campaign sabotage is the bombshell that Rick Perry was the one who leaked the anonymous sexual harassment charges against Herman Cain.

Perry is a snake. Watch him. He is creepy. And his drunken, freak show speech this past weekend belonged in a Roger Corman film.

I questioned his very bad judgment when I exposed his entire Islamic curriculum, dawah and proselytizing, to Texas school children. But this? Perry is a really bad guy. Only a lowlife (or a Democrat — Perry was Al Gore’s campaign manager) would eliminate a better man with innuendo and gossip. Men like Perry do not win on merit.

I endorse Herman Cain. What he doesn’t know, we’ll teach him.

Do you get the feeling that Geller is not a Perry supporter?  Here’s the reason why.  Simply knowing someone who knows someone who knows a Muslim is enough to get you on Geller’s hate list.  In any case, a Geller endorsement for Cain is a bit strange.  Just a few months back, she had this to say about Cain after he backtracked and apologized for his hard stance on hiring Muslims.

…the only thing Herman Cain had going for him as a candidate was his apparent courage in facing the real enemy within and without. In issuing this apology, he thought he saved his candidacy; in fact, he killed it.

The fact that Geller can ignore her dislike for Herman Cain and now endorse him in the way she has says much about the state of affairs in the Republican primary.  Basically, everyone in the GOP wishes there was an electable candidate whose last name was not Romney – a man who cannot get his approval rating within the party above the 25% mark.  Unfortunately for them, there isn’t.  In today’s GOP, a sane mind and non-wingnut conservatism gets you a Huntsman-like 2% approval rating.

What all this points to is how truly screwed up the Republican party finds itself…not that they have any awareness of the state their party is in.  Between the teabaggers and religious nuts, the Gellers and Bachmanns, the Becks and Palins, the Boehners and Cantors, the Kochs and Norquists and, of course, the haters of anything gay, Islamic or Hispanic, the GOP is on a downward spiral of historic proportions.  And the only thread keeping it all together is a common hatred for the current President and an even greater hatred for anything resembling liberalism.

The only question is who crashes first, the GOP or the country they supposedly love.

The Right’s Campaign of Organized Islamophobia

Why is none of this surprising?

Following a six-month long investigative research project, the Center for American Progress released a 130-page report today which reveals that more than $42 million from seven foundations over the past decade have helped fan the flames of anti-Muslim hate in America.

[...]

Over the past few years, the Islamophobia network (the funders, scholars, grassroots activists, media amplifiers, and political validators) have worked hard to push narratives that Obama might be a Muslim, that mosques are incubators of radicalization, and that “radical Islam” has infiltrated all aspects of American society — including the conservative movement.

[...]

The money has flowed into the hands of five key “experts” and “scholars” who comprise the central nervous system of anti-Muslim propaganda:

[...]

These five “scholars” are assisted in their outreach efforts by Brigitte Gabriel (founder, ACT! for America), Pamela Geller (co-founder, Stop Islamization of America), and David Horowitz (supporter of Robert Spencer’s Jihad Watch).  As the report details, information is then disseminated through conservative organizations like the Eagle Forum, the religious right, Fox News, and politicians such as Allen West and Newt Gingrich.

Pamela Geller and Fox News as purveyors of hate?  Really?  Shocking!  /snark

This report confirms what most sane observers of the hate-fest already suspected – that similar to the growth of the Tea Party movement, the anti-Muslim rhetoric of the last number of years has its roots in right-wing ideology and big money.  There are few things easier to do in life than exploit the innate xenophobic tendencies of people and the right does it so very well.

Say what you will about the right but no one can claim that they don’t “put their money where there bigotry is“.

Herman Cain – Bigot Extraordinaire

Once again, Republican presidential hopeful, Herman Cain, shows his Islamophobic colors.

BECK: You said you would not appoint a Muslim to anybody in your administration.

CAIN: The exact language was when I was asked, “would you be comfortable with a Muslim in your cabinet?” And I said, “no, I would not be comfortable.” I didn’t say I wouldn’t appoint one because if they can prove to me that they’re putting the Constitution of the United States first then they would be a candidate just like everybody else. My entire career, I’ve hired good people, great people, regardless of their religious orientation.

BECK: So wait a minute. Are you saying that Muslims have to prove their, that there has to be some loyalty proof?

CAIN: Yes, to the Constitution of the United States of America.

BECK: Would you do that to a Catholic or would you do that to a Mormon?

CAIN: Nope, I wouldn’t. Because there is a greater dangerous part of the Muslim faith than there is in these other religions. I know that there are some Muslims who talk about, “but we are a peaceful religion.” And I’m sure that there are some peace-loving Muslims.

It’s comforting to know that Mr. Cain believes that “some” peace-loving Muslims exist. That surely lets at least 5 or 6 of the world’s 1.5 billion Muslims off the hook.

Has no one informed Cain that anyone elected to public office is required to take an oath to defend the Constitution thereby making the attempt to force a specific group of citizens to take a loyalty oath a redundant measure, to say nothing of it being unconstitutional in itself? Pandering to a bigoted segment of the conservative base has become a dangerous practice among many Republican politicians. Should Americans of Italian descent be asked to take a loyalty oath before taking office because of the existence of the Mafia? Following Cain’s line of reasoning, the answer is a resounding ‘yes’. When the actions of extremists becomes the gauge by which we measure the value of the majority, then everyone is dangerous and unsuited for elected office.

I’m not going to bother rehashing the entire Islam vs. Christianity debate but suffice to say that the Bible is rife with passages depicting cruel and violent acts. If you’re going to ask Muslims to take a loyalty oath based on specific passages found in the Quran, then you’d best ask Christians to do the same.  The fact of the matter is that bigots and racists always have what they believe to be just cause for their hate. What they will never admit, however, is that they’re actually bigots and racists. Every Islamophobe will tell you that they know “a good Muslim” in the same way that racists will tell you that they know of at least one “good black man”. It’s their feeble attempt at removing the bigot label displayed so prominently on their foreheads. It’s not every Muslim or black man that is dangerous, they’ll tell you, it’s just most of them. Of course.

Cain has little chance of winning the Republican primary. The base would never allow a black man to become their candidate. They’re just not ready for it, especially after four years of Obama. But what if through some strange set of circumstances, someone like Herman Cain or Sarah Palin or Donald Trump or Michele Bachmann ever did become President of the  United States?  Can one imagine the damage they would inflict upon the nation? It would make the presidency of George W. Bush appear Washingtonian in comparison. Shudder to think…
