Ever wonder how conservatives reconcile their dislike of socialism with Santa’s boundless socialist behavior?
Me neither. It’s Christmas time. Enjoy the Santa history lesson.
Let me take the opportunity to wish you all a wonderful and safe Christmas and holiday season. Whatever meaning this time of year holds for you, may it be a happy one.
My postings will be sporadic over the next week but I will be around (less so if Santa finally brings me the pony I’ve been asking for since the age of six)
C’mon, Gary, of course the President is one of my loyal readers. Actually, he just texted me from AF1 to express his disappointment that I was not able to take him up on his offer to spend the holidays with Michelle and the kids down in Hawaii. Told him that as much as I respect him, I’d rather spend time with my kids than his.
May I recommend this cartoon? I think it’s Dutch, and I find it quite funny.
At this time of year, there are only two seasonal CDs I listen to: one is the 2003 The Jethro Tull Christmas Album, which has a very nice jazzed-up instruental version of “God Rest ye Merry, Gentlemen”, and MotherTongue’s A Winter’s Night, which is a collection of songs celebrating the Solstice.
What brought that on Peter? You just decided to throw that out there for chuckles?
Let me help – Santa gets his presents from the capitalist stores and then he gives them to friends, family, children – including those who who have no one else to give them presents making him, of course, the socialist in the end.
Meanwhile, back at the store, the capitalists, like Scrooge, are counting their riches and while Santa’s wallet is much lighter, his heart is much fuller because it’s much more fun and satisfying to be a socialist, than a capitalist! :-)
Sorry I missed the holiday greetings. I was spending my holiday in the hospital. I did get out Christmas afternoon, but am stuck with bed rest for a while longer. Had baking, and travel plans, and no one to visit my Mom. What a bummer. Will have to make it up soon as possible.
I do hope you all had a wonderful, Merry Christmas! All holidays observed, really. I wish you all a Happy New Year, too. May 2012 be the year things get better for all who have, and are suffering in America.
Peace
Loved the Santa history lesson. A Merry Christmas to you and all your readers, Mario.
Seasons Greetings Mario.
My wish to you and your readers is for all have a very happy, successful and prosperous 2012.
Obama is one of your readers, right?

Santa is not a socialist he is a capitalist.
Justify this statement with proof.
Anyone who thinks Santa is a capitalist has St. Nick confused with Walmart. Last time I checked, Santa was all about giving, not about charging.
What brought that on Peter? You just decided to throw that out there for chuckles?
