This is where one year of irrational hate speech by the right has taken some.
Hannah Gosselin, a 9-year-old Methuen girl, put 50 cents into a vending machine at a supermarket hoping for rub-on tattoos or stickers, but instead got a fake $1 million bill featuring an anti-Obama message.
The bill, with a cartoon image of an African American sheep on the front, read “This bill is good for four free years of healthcare,” the Lawrence Eagle Tribune reported.
The back of the bill read, “Kid’s, let your parents know that you’ll be taking care of all their healthcare needs so they should buy you that new cellphone, ipod, or video game you’ve been asking for. It’s great to live in the USA!”
Sick. I tried tuning into Beck’s show today and could not last more than five minutes. The total and absolute ridiculous rhetoric and tone regarding the Obama ‘socialist agenda’ is delusional and outright insane. Irrational thought and hate of that type leads exactly to this type of incident.
This type of hatred goes wider and deeper than I ever imagined possible today. There is a deep, ugly well of ignorance and hatred that until we had a black President, was below the surface.
I am slack-jawed to think that people today will parade the streets, like in the Tea Party gatherings, with racist signs, shouting racist slogans. That people like Glen Beck is on television and radio almost everyday, spewing the ignorance and hate that he peddles. Fox News has over a million people daily that tune into the sick stuff that they peddle. I do not know if it is just because I live in a Republican area, Phoenix, AZ, but when I go in to a public office where they have a TV in their waiting room, the channel is always turned to Fox News. I have been doing this informal survey for a long time, because I am really sensitive to having to watch that disgusting channel. Does anyone else pay attention to this?
