I wonder if Leahy's obsession with investigating Cheney and Bush could have anything to do with Cheney telling him to "F" off a few years back?

The main issue here (at least to me) is the point I brought up in my 2nd post to this garbage that no one has answered as yet. Speaks to precedence. Do we want to set a precedent where every new administration investigates the previous administration? When I finally agree with President Obama, I find you guys on the other side.

An here is information on "Leahy Then" vs "Leahy Now". What a hypocrite!

Au contraire, your comment was not explicitly stated but the fact that "you resent people that have disrespect for the President", implicitly means you have a greater respect. Who are you to think you're so superior?
This is an open discussion and the last time I checked, we didn’t wake up in a Taliban state. All are free to express their opinions without personal recrimination.

I'm sorry. I missed the comment where I claimed to be the most Patriotic Person on this forum. And I also missed the ones where I have displayed disrespect to THE President that even begins to approach that exhibited toward Mr. Bush.

George Bush and Saddam Hussein?

That is to ridiculous to even respond to. The below site should also offer a thought on your comeback of the deaths caused by the Iraqi War.

Let me ask.....did you meet Mario in your "Bush Derangement Syndrome Management" classes? Have you guys made any progress in managing and controlling this flaw in your characters?

I had no respect for President Bush in the same way I had no respect for Saddam Hussein. There is a difference in respecting the office of the President and respecting the man who holds that office. Neither Bush nor Saddam deserved anyone's respect.

I voted for George W. Bush in 2000 and while I had my doubts about the man, I was excited about his message of seeking unity between democrats and republicans and making the welfare of the county his priority.

His first term ended up being the exact opposite. He sowed the seeds of dissension and created a greater divide in the country than I had ever witnessed before. He was the ultimate failure and I could not wait to cast my vote against him in 2004.

President Bush lied and smirked his way through 8 years in office and the damage he has done will take years to rectify. In summary, the office of the president will always have my respect. For the man who occupies that office, he must earn my respect.

"I am resentful of people in other countries displaying such blatant disrespect for the President of the United States, whoever he or she may be."

I can assure you bigdaddy, that I have more respect for the President of the United States that you could ever imagine.

Before making blatant comments that could not possibly be founded in any sort of logic, simply because you personally have no idea whom you are talking with, you may want to rethink your strategy before entrenching yourself in your staunch believe that you are the most patriotic person in this forum. Being a supporter of the President of the United States means you support THE President and not just the President you feel is worthy.

"If you feel that your hero should not be jailed, fine…"

And that's part of the problem. Because I don't hate and disrespect him as you do, that some how translates to hero worship.

"I believe that George Bush and Dick Cheney should be tried for the crimes they committed."

I'm sorry, I was unaware they had been charged of crimes. So either you are wrong or I missed the part where they were charged with a crime.

"Your irrational suggestion that my criticism of Bush is somehow disrespectful of the US is…well, it’s just plain stupid."

No. Try to stick to reality. I said the image you created was disrespectful. Still say it is. And to quote someone much smarter than myself, "I don't particularly give a damn what you think."

"I will just say that you might want to tell the parents or spouses of the 100 Canadian soldiers who have been killed in Afghanistan that Canada is irrelevant."

I said nothing about the contribution of Canadian Soldiers as being irrelevant. That's a pretty tacky effort on your part. But I do say that Canada has little influence on the World Stage and Global Politics at this point in time.

"I don’t criticize you because you disagree with me. This has been your mantra time and time again."

Now for that one, I'll just admonish you and anyone else interested to simply read back over the many posts. According to you, I am incapable of thought or opinion outside of FOXX News and Conservative Pundits. I'm narrow minded. Parroting. Irrational. Twisted. Need I go on??

"Final piece of advice for you. Learn to express your opinion on the issues in a manner which does not turn it into a personal attack on me or any other commenter."

I take issue with your Politics and voice my feelings about that. You only consider it a personal attack if someone else is doing the commentary. If it's you blathering on about FOXX this or Hero that, narrow minded this, just too many to list here, then that's intelligent and insightful discourse. If it's someone questioning your Liberal Ideology, then all of a sudden it becomes a personal attack.

No. I think you are a perfect example of the homily, "The bit dog always howls the loudest." When someone makes a point with you that bucks the Liberal Mantel you have self-righteously hung around your shoulders, you respond by belittling them with FOXX News, Liberal Pundits, Parrots, you know, your usual fare.

So please, don't cry foul with me about any personal comments. Differentiate. I'm sure you're a fine fellow. Your Politics suck.

There's an irrational side to your personality, bigdaddy, which I'd be concerned about if I was you. A few comments on your response to darkArtist.

- I believe that George Bush and Dick Cheney should be tried for the crimes they committed. That is my opinion (and the opinion of probably a 100 million Americans). Am I entitled to that opinion? Does the fact that he was president of the U.S. absolve him from his acts in office?

- Your irrational suggestion that my criticism of Bush is somehow disrespectful of the US is...well, it's just plain stupid. Nancy Pelosi who you have mocked and criticized numerous times is a sitting member of Congress. Should I view this as a disrespectful act toward your country? Your logic is warped.

- I have no need to defend Canada to someone who is so obviously ignorant about my country. I will just say that you might want to tell the parents or spouses of the 100 Canadian soldiers who have been killed in Afghanistan that Canada is irrelevant.

- I don't criticize you because you disagree with me. This has been your mantra time and time again. The irony is that what you accuse me of doing is EXACTLY what you do! This post is the perfect example. I put up a post expressing my opinion and you came back with a venomous pile of crap calling me ignorant and mocking Canada. And you think you have righteousness on your side? Sick.

- Are you so blind to your ways? What is wrong with you? I've debated many conservatives and I have never seen anyone so unaware of their own irrational, twisted logic.

Anyway, don't take my word for it. Just read the comments on this page.

Final piece of advice for you. Learn to express your opinion on the issues in a manner which does not turn it into a personal attack on me or any other commenter. If you feel that your hero should not be jailed, fine...just express your reasons for feeling that way and why you think I'm wrong. Having every thread turn into a series of personal attacks is stupid and this is the last time I will participate in such a debate.

Consider your hand slapped. Now go be a good boy.
