Despite the fact that it is a blatant lie, Fox News is still going with it’s Pelosi’s Mouse story (see my previous post More Fox News BS). Fox News Washington deputy managing editor Bill Sammon now joins a number of other Fox News personalities in propagating a falsehood about the recovery bill. No doubt there are millions of uninformed Americans who by now believe that the stimulus bill actually contains a clause giving out money to preserve the saltwater harvest mouse. They believe it because they’ve now heard it at least 4 times on Fox News.
Fox is a wonderful place to go for people who enjoy their news filtered and distorted.
Among those projects: South Bay Bay Salt Pond Restoration Project, the Napa Plant Site, and the Napa Salt Marsh restoration. All in the San Francisco Bay Area.
“The destruction of San Francisco Bay’s salt marsh has wrecked havoc on the Salt Marsh Harvest Mouse. Although the damage has been done, we still have an opportunity to make the Bay more hospitable to the Salt Marsh Harvest Mouse by restoring salt marsh habitat anywhere around San Francisco Bay with conservation organizations.”
A major component of restoration of these areas would be protection of endangered species. While it is certainly an exaggeration to say the money is “specifically” for the Salt Marsh Harvest Mouse, preservation of that species would be a focal point of restoration projects.
Maybe this is just a way of drawing attention to the fact that this thing is loaded down with unnecessary, pork barrel, earmark spending that has absolutely nothing to do with stimulating our economy.

2. Those 3 San Francisco Bay Area sites I listed are sites that would receive funding under the Spendulus Plan.
3. I linked the 2008 article on the Salt Marsh Harvest Mouse to demonstrate the relationship between the “Mouse”, the S.F. Bay Area Wetlands and the stated importance of sustaining the habitat in order to sustain the “Mouse”.
Then, I thought I had made it clear enough by clarifying that, “A major component of restoration of these areas would be protection of endangered species……..preservation of that species (The Mouse) would be a focal point of restoration projects.”
(I thought at least YOU would be able to figure that out. Sorry I over estimated you.)

Okay. I’m going to put a lid on this one for you but I’ve got to tell you, if I’m going to have to continue to clean up your messes for you, I would like to be put on the payroll. I had to clean up you Limbaugh Lies fiasco. Now I have to clean up this one. Oh well. Somebody has to set the record straight.
On the one hand, you’ve got the Limbaugh’s screaming, “$30 million to save Nancy’s Mouse.”
On the other hand, you got the Mario Matters’ of the world indignantly crying, “Ridiculous! Absolutely no way, no how any of this money will even remotely be used for such stupidity and therefore, all the Limbaugh’s and the (what were your words, oh yeah) “Simpletons” that make up his audience (actually just make up the people that disagree with you) are just lying.”
In the middle is the truth. There IS funding in the Spendulus Bill that will filter down to protection of endangered species in these areas. Nancy’s mouse happens to be one of those species. You and your ilk are no better than those you categorize as “Simpletons”, “Morons” and all the other choice descriptive terms you favor for those who would disagree with you.
You really shouldn’t have much more to say, other than you’re sorry for being so ridiculous.
So, what is next on your agenda for me to correctly state for you?
