Here’s a pic of Leena at one of her weekly chess sessions with her adorable little cousin, Alessia who is all of 11 months old. At 37 weeks, Leena is quite the accomplished chess player although Alessia is up a couple of matches as of this writing.
The marathon matches (about 20 to 30 seconds long) are legendary in the neighborhood where the two little ones go back and forth strategically flinging pawns, knights and rooks on the floor doing their best to outmaneuver the other. The winner is the one who first captures their opponent’s king and places it in her mouth.
They seem to be concentrating intently on the next move.
