The numbers of available construction jobs is much worse then that. Iron workers are nearly at a stand still right now. The jobs are so few throughout the entire state that some workers are going out of state to find jobs and having no success. If it were not for the employment insurance benefits most of us would be begging for food. We have watched three families lose their homes, their cars, everything. It’s a heartbreaking scene. Those benefits have taken so long to return that it became too late for some people to keep their apartments. Everyone is out there looking for work, every single day, even when we already know the answer that there is no work. To hear the bull of these politicians that people are sitting on their butts just drawing the money is sickening. I want more then ever to cut their wages to the bare bones and see how well they survive. They can never understand until they feel the same pain.
