Romney Calls Democrats (are you ready for this?)…DONKEYS!

.

Before his attack on Dems, Mitt Romney defended Bush at CPAC.

“I respect [Bush's] silence even in the face of the assaults on his record that come from this administration. But at the same time, I also respect the loyalty and indefatigable defense of truth that comes from our ‘I don’t give a damn’ Vice President Dick Cheney!”

“I’m afraid that after all the finger-pointing is finished, it has become clear who is responsible for President Obama’s lost year, the 10 percent unemployment year — President Obama and his fellow Democrats.”

“So when it comes to pinning blame, pin the tail on the donkeys.”

I imagine there are worse things that have been said of Democrats than referring to them as donkeys.  Some vicious people, or so I heard, have called them…liberals! Ouch.

Are conservatives so cocky these days that they’re now willing to defend the Bush record?  Up to now they’ve spent considerable time railing against Bush for his shift away from conservative ideology.  Who the hell buys this garbage?  Obama walks into the worst economic crisis the country has faced since the Great Depression and because he didn’t fix it all in his first year, it’s now his fault?

Romney has shown himself to be a flip-flopper who has no qualms in saying whatever best suits the audience he’s speaking to at any one moment.  Even more pathetic is to think he’s the best Republicans have to offer right now.

Well, after Sarah Palin he’s the best they’ve got. </sarcasm>

Mitt Romney can kiss this donkey’s ass……(sorry, it was WAY too easy).

  2. janine says:

Mitt needs a psych evaluation if he thinks ChayNay is the defender of truth. These folks never tire of trying to rewrite history.

  3. Tommy Pane says:

Romney wasn’t defending the Bush legacy. It stank and we all know it. He stated his respect for a man who would choose to take the high road in the face of a mob who would use him as an excuse for everything bad that happened in this country. Bush is showing class with his silence.

Cheney showed class with his silence during his years as Bush’s underling. He knew his place. Now that he’s off his leash, he has as much right to express his opinion as anyone else, whether you agree with it or not.

As far as rewriting history Janine, the economy in this country didn’t start to tank until the dems took control of congress in 2007 and started spending like crazy. Bush’s mistake was in not stopping them.

The dems own this mess we’re in. Hopefully, enough people have realized that and will pull thier heads out of the donkey’s ass during the next election.

  4. laurieD says:

You’re wrong Tommy. This is what Romney said.

“I am convinced that history will judge President Bush far more kindly — he pulled us from a deepening recession following the attack of 9-11, he overcame teachers unions to test school children and evaluate schools, he took down the Taliban, waged a war against the jihadists and was not afraid to call it what it is — a war. And he kept us safe.”

He was judging the Bush legacy.

Your second comment is as wrong and more ridiculous than anything I’ve read from you before.

“the economy in this country didn’t start to tank until the dems took control of congress in 2007″

By anyone’s standards, that statement is plainly and absurdly fallacious. Is making stuff up your style now Tommy or have you attended one tea party too many?

  5. defolts says:

Tommy is not wrong, Tommy is the typical con, he likes to make things up. what exactly did the dems increase spending on and how much did it go up in 2007 and 2008? and was it for things that Bush was opposed to? and were there enough dems to override a presidential veto? Tommy is the type that appeals to people with short memories, when Reagan took office unemployment was at 7.4% it went down a little and then after the tax cuts shot up to 10.8 in November of 1982 and during his first state of the union speech he spoke of the problems he inherited, which I guess is okay depending on if you have a D or an R in front of your name. Bush also complained of the previous admin in his state of the union and used it to push the tax cuts, we all know what happened there.

  6. defolts says:

Tommy how much did spending go up in 2007 and 2008 as opposed to 2004 or 2005. you GOP cowards say and do anything, you make stuff up. You refer to a democratic president’s daughter as the white house dog then when someone makes a remark about a teen that is used in campaign appearances by a mother that pushes abstinence only education and this same teen gets pregnant you guys cry foul. now you are saying that between 2001 and 2006 spending was under control and in 2007 it somehow shot way up. define spending like crazy, because I looked at the budget tables in could not come up with something that grew like “crazy” from one year to the next. oh wait Obama stopped hiding the costs of the ongoing military actions in the middle east.

  8. BORICUA says:

“Cheney showed class with his silence during his years as Bush’s underling. He knew his place. Now that he’s off his leash, he has as much right to express his opinion as anyone else, whether you agree with it or not.”

Cheney can express himself all he wants. This is afterall a free country. But what you say above about his silence during the Bush years… is not out of respect for the administration. By keeping a low profile he made sure he got the millions out of the his “Iraq war!”

“Cheney’s Halliburton stock went up 3000%, that’s 30X. He did very well.”

  9. defolts says:

I knew tommy boy had no specific answer,

  10. Tommy Pane says:

defolts – I’ve been busy making a living defolts. Responding to your insults isn’t on the top of my list today. I only had time to send you a link.

The fact is, liberals (democrats) spend more money than conservatives. Always have, always will. You can justify them spending more all you want, but I want less government, not more government. The last batch of republicans in congress have not been conservatives, and the message is being sent to them loud and clear. The spending spree is over.

  11. Anonymous says:

Tommy boy you don’t have a real answer so you don’t answer, the last batch of republicans were conservatives, and Reagan took the debt over a trillion for the first time, FYI Lyndon Johnson handed Nixon a budget that was in surplus, but then again Bill Clinton did the same thing.
