Holy smokes. That was the best political speech more or less ever. There wasn’t a thing he didn’t touch on, and there wasn’t a thing he didn’t just blast out of the park. His carriage and delivery nailed it for partisans and for persuadables. He hit Republican obstructionism. He slammed the Romney and Ryan plans on virtually every point they’ve raised in the last six months, from the welfare ads to the tax cuts to the Medicare “cuts” to so much more, and he did it in detail.
Amazing detail! Who else could burrow into those details, give a wonky speech—which this was, in a huge way—but a wonky speech that brought people to their feet two dozen times?

The Democrats are just wiping the floor with the Republicans so far. I’m not saying it will decide things, but the disparity in sheer talent is enough to make people look at Republicans as swimming in the kiddie pool.
Sitting there and watching a Democrat clearly articulate and shred to pieces every major talking point and lie Republicans have uttered in the last six months was a joy. It says much about the Democratic Party that they are able to showcase their last president proudly. Compare that with Republicans who just held a convention where they did their best to create the impression that the years 2000-2008 never happened.
Bush who?
Furthermore, and with few exceptions, Republicans who took the stage in Tampa spent more time talking about their own accomplishments than those of their presidential nominee. Bain Capital and Romney’s time as governor were hardly mentioned.
Republicans have nothing. Absolutely nothing…except for the fictional Obama they’ve created to feed to the Fox News minions they keep protected in a hermetically sealed bubble safe from the harming effects we call truth and facts.

Vintage Clinton. Great job of setting up the policy statements to be expressed by Obama tonight. We are blessed with intellectuals that do know their bible ( stated by Mrs Warren) and follow the values of our forefathers.
Loved Michelle’s hit to the fence about the man and the struggles: Adored Clinton’s home run detailing what was inherited from Bush could not have been settled in four years : anxiously awaiting for the home run out of the park by Obama’s declaration to the people about the journey America will undertake for a better future.
Anyone thinking there are unpatriotic paid traitors on the Obama campaign team that excluded GOD and Jerusalem out of the platform ? Don’t see why this happened.
Maybe this will put an end to the VULTURE and the VOUCHER.
Bill Clinton has an amazing knack for delivering a speech to a huge crowd that makes it feel like he is having a one-on-one talk with you. He spits out facts right and left in simple language everyone can understand. Even GOP strategist Alex Castellanos was impressed — I loved it when he said that Clinton probably just got President Obama reelected. Actually every speaker I’ve heard at the convention has done a stellar job — I’m hoping the President gets a huge bounce from their hard efforts this week. It has been electric!!
This is a crucial election with high stakes for us middle and lower class families, and the choice is as clear as the nose on your face. For those who are riding the Romney-Ryan train, I predict lots of buyers’ remorse if you vote him into office!
Bill is a great speaker. His speech was long but there wasn’t one wasted word in it. I was surprised to read that the teleprompter had failed at one point and he had to ad lib, he knew his speaking points so well that it wasn’t noticeable.
I feel sure that some of the undecided who watched the speech are decided by now, especially if they watched the GOP highlights such as Eastwood’s rambling and Ryan’s lying.
Barry is a great orator and hopefully will clinch the deal tonight. I also anxiously await his introduction by the inimitable Biden. I admire Joe tremendously, he says what he thinks which I wish was something more politicians did.

I listened to most of the speeches at both conventions. Here is my take-away:
R speech: My great-great grandfather had it rough and had a hand up. I inherited from that and we have to slam those doors shut.
D speech: I personally had it rough and had a hand up and we need to make sure the next generation gets that same help.

Having watched both conventions, hearing all the rhethoric, seing all the political ads, the one that really annoys me the most is the constant reminder by the republicans that President Obama is responsible for the muti-trillion dollar deficit! This is wrong! This is a complete fabrication by the GOP to blame the 44th President of the United States for something he didn’t do ! Let me remind those individuals who apparently have short term memory loss, or belong to the Ronald Reagan Institute for the Forgetful, that the Crawford Texas Crippler, aka George W. Bush, the man who was in the BIG CHAIR from 2000 to 2008 ! This individual walked into the White House with a $6 Trillion Dollar Surplus ! What did he do with it ? I don’t know, do you, I doubt It. What he didn’t do was use it to fund the 2 suspect wars he started. The entry fee for those two military involvements was $12 Trillion dollars ! The only problem was, Georgie NEVER wrote it down ! Moving right along, enter Mother Nature into the mix. 2005 & Hurrican Katrina. The cost for that disaster is anywhere between 80 & 100 Billion dollars ! The only problem was, Georgie NEVER wrote it down and NEVER finished rebuilding the parishes ! Hell, it took him 4 days to visit the location of the worst natural disaster to strike at the shores of the United States ! Four Days. What was he waiting for, permission from mommy & daddy, they got there before he did, only to belittle the people who had lost everything. Later that year more storms, floods, tornadoes, fires that required…..money to repair everything that was damaged or destroyed. The cost was in the billlions ! The only problem was, Georgie NEVER wrote it down! So, you can see where this is going, Georgie just kept writing checks that he couldn’t cash. DID HE KNOW what he was doing? Sure he did, so did Chaney, so did the entire cabinet! They didn’t care. They had a plan. But remember something, those 2 “unfunded” wars he started under false pretense….you know those WOMD that supposingly existed BUT really never did….$$$$$$$$……everyday the price went up & it is still going up ! Something else, this “war” in Afghanistan has lasted more than WW I & WW II COMBINED ! So, fast forward to 2008, and a new vibrant excited President takes over in the White House. Barack Obama ! The 44th President of the United States. Georgie bows out, gives President Obama the keys & rides off into the sunset back to Crawford, Texas where he will await monthly checks that will total $420,000.00 a year for the rest of his life ! The only problem, Georgie NEVER told 44 about his slight of hand with the White House accounting ! Nice guy, isn’t he ? It’s like you turning on the gas in a house you just sold, walking away, coming back to meet the new owner to give him the keys, noticing he is a smoker, & not telling him what he’s walking into ! President Obama HAD NO IDEA Bushie “cooked the books.” Once he did figure it out, Pres. Obama had no choice BUT TO DISCLOSE what the previous administration did not ! The deficit was now approx. $12 to 14 Trillion dollars and rising! Bush knew the “black guy” would be blamed. He also knew that his friends in Congress & the House would stonewall him every chance they could….they did ! You remember the Debt Ceiling Agruments with the Speaker of the House, John Boehner. Look up the fillibusters, there have been more during Pres. Obama’s term than at anytime in history! Finally, I must disclose that the deficit Pres. Obama inherited from Mr. Bush will not go away anytime soon. Why ? Remember those two wars Bushie got us into with lies & deceit….(he should have been impeached)….there will be reconstruction costs that have been promised to to Afghanistan, state & local contributions to veteran care, interest payments on war debt and the costs of Medicare for veterans when they reach 65! There have already been a staggering 550,000 disability claims filed with the VA as of 2010 ! So, there you have it, there is more, like the death tolls, suicides, the injured, lots of money here too, but I guess the most upsetting & distubing peice is…..WHY ? & for what ? It wasn’t always about Bin Laden…..seriously, it doesn’t take 8 years of one wingnut’s presidency to track down a criminal the magnitude of Bin Laden! What was the real reason? Was it for Israel ? To make them sleep better at night? To assure their dominence in the region ? What ? It had to be something, after all, 137,000 civilians have died, nearly 8 million peole have been displaced, more than 6,000 troops, and 2300 contractors have died since the “wars” began after Sept. 11. Hmmm, I wonder. I also wonder about the $6 Trillion dollar surplus George W. Bush inherited from President Clinton! What did he do with it? I’m still trying to figure that one out. In conclusion, when you wake up tomorrow, remember, the “black guy” didn’t do it ! It was The Crawford Texas Crippler’s plan all along ! 8o]
The latest vanity fair magizine which you can read online has a story about the beginning of the war, it explains how leaders of other nations thought that Bush was insane, and he was determined to go after Sadam Hussein, and no one could understand why. They all thought he was nuts. He actually told the leader of France that this was going to be a holy war, which would usher in the return of Jesus. He said that this was preordained and referenced gog and mogog. Read it and you will be stunned at the at the nutjob that was our president. The article is from a new book.
