  1. Lead is also naturally occurring. So is bull $h!t. I guess those are not pollutants either, and I think that they are both in these Republicans’ Dr. Pepper, and those guys are definitely creating them when they talk to us.

  2. E.A. Blair says:

There are lots of things that are naturally occurring that aren’t benign, and things that the body produces that also aren’t benign. Mr. Barton says that the carbon dioxide he exhales isn’t a pollutant. I say the crap that I get rid of on the toilet isn’t a pollutant and invite him to eat some. I have some tasty urine for him to drink, too.

Get him in a room with a concentration of .5% to 1% carbon dioxide, and his mouth and nose will begin to sting as it combines with his saliva and mucous membranes and turns to acid. Crank up the percentage to %5 and he’ll soon start to feel drowsy, then fall asleep and never wake up.

  3. Look, it stands to reason that when you pump trillions of tons of something into the environment, it will have some sort of effect. Basic logic would dictate this. Try drastically changing the chemistry of any living thing, and notice what happens.

  4. dinamic72 says:

I am amazed by those who spew these little truisms as if they have just solved another of the great problems of the world. Notice that they say these things with a mocking attitude as if it was right there all the time, but we are just too stupid to get it. Were they born without the part that takes an instant to check the merit of what we are about to say, before we blurt it out or at least right after we hear what we just said?

  5. E.A. Blair says:

I just had a store cashier tell me she didn’t believe pollution contributed to climate change. I told her, “Next time you have diarrhea, take some Ex-Lax. And when you use the toilet, stop flushing. Multiply that by six and a half billion.”

  6. ocLiberal says:

The other thing these followers of ignorance never speak about is our continuing drop in a worldwide ranking for education. They are so busy waving their foam #1 fingers that they never stop to notice that we are falling behind the rest of the world (for which they seem to hold contempt) and it is happening at an alarming pace.

It is becoming a self-fulfilling action. The more they tout America’s superiority while challenging science and education the further we slide.

  7. bronco billy says:

I can’t understand why it is you libtards hate America so much. We are number 1 and if that bothers you, then do us all a favor and leave. Is it any wonder that every person on the planet wants to be a citizen of the US. Ask yourself why.

  8. E.A. Blair says:

Billy – unless you dictated that comment, you must be literate, so here’s something you might understand: Luke 6:42.

    We don’t rail at specks.

  9. dinamic72 says:

Thanks bronco billy you did an excellent job of making the point of this thread.

  10. Denny Smith says:

I cannot count how many times in the past year that I’ve had to defend, yes defend, my education. Just recently, I had a high-school educated Beck-head relative respond to my bringing up a simple empirical “fact” by saying, and I quote,

“Yea, and I bet you read that in some booooooooook, huh?”

Yea, they are misologists, and frightened ones at that.

  11. bronco billy says:

Was it the use of the word libtards that upset you? I’m sorry if that offends you but I am fed up with liberals knocking our country. You defend Muslim terrorists, Mexican illegals, killing babies and homosexuals but you criticize the tea party made up of hardworking Americans who care about the direction their country is moving in. You people sicken me.

  12. janine says:

    @broncobilly,

liberals do not hate America, we are patriotic hard working Americans. We want to save the country from hate mongering, lie spewing teabagger righties who want to take this country back into the dark ages.

  13. TheCloudancer says:

I’m a bit confussed here bucko, why is it that if someone does not totally agree with the tea party they are knocking the country? You say we are number 1 and if that bothers me to leave. Number 1 at what? Number 1 at shipping jobs offshore? Number 1 at racking up tremendous debt to our biggest enemies? Number 1 at rewarding the banking system for breaking the backs of the middle class? It is obvious that you have no idea what it is to be #1.

I dropped out of high school at 17 and got a job in a local machine shop. I worked hard and was able to buy a car, feed myself and pay rent. I joined the Navy when the draft board decided I was 1A and did two tours in Viet Nam. I came back and immediately had a job waiting. I have seen what it is like to live in the number 1 country in the world. This ain’t it. I love this country and I have demonstrated my willingness to shed my blood for it. All you do is blow off at the mouth.

The tea party says they want their country back but they continue to allow the socalled conservatives to rob this country of its resources while giving our jobs and our wealth to China, Japan, Korea, India and numberous other 3rd world cheap labor countries. They take tort money set up by Bush and refuse to reinvest in America while you sit here and bitch at the REAL AMERICAN that want the REAL AMERICAS back.

I want to live in that America where young person can come out of the public education system and get a job that pays a living wage without having to go into mega debt to go to college. I want to live in that America that allowed this high school drop out to now own two businesses and employ people that want to make an honest living that supports their families and supports the REAL AMERICAN WAY OF LIFE.

  14. OC Liberal says:

Yes, Bronco, we sicken you so much you just can’t stop reading…

By the by, if you check the statistics we are FAR behind most other countries in education. Look it up. You are making my point, not that I hate America, but that Teabaggers and the like love to say we are number one, but their retro-sociological attitudes only pull us further and further down.

Now go back to your books about the early humans riding dinosaurs!

  15. E.A. Blair says:

Despite the fact that I don’t consider billybronco worth the effort of typing, I will say that the reason I am critical of this country is because it’s where I live, where ancestors of mine have lived since the 1730′s, and for myself and for the honor of those ancestors I expect this country to be the best, but I don’t blind myself to seeing where my expectations are not met. Someone more famous than I am (though you might not recognize his name) said,

“I don’t believe in ‘My country right or wrong’. My country wrong needs my help.”

    — Peter Halsten Thorkelson

  16. bronco billy says:

My argument is not about your right to criticize but what you choose to criticize. You defend a socialist president set on “fundamentally transforming” the US into a European country but you deride patriots who want to preserve the country they know and love. How do you look at yourself in the mirror?

Cloudancer says he wants the real America back. So do I! But we’re losing it because you were all so pissed off at Bush and decided to vote in an experienced community organizer with ties to socialists and communists. Open up your eyes and minds and see what is really happening to our country. The government has taken over health care, the banking industry and car manufacturing. They’re appointing activist supreme court judges. They’re bankrupting the country. Are you all so blind? Wake up!!!!!!!!!

  17. TheCloudancer says:

You wouldn’t know a socialist if one pissed on your shoe. The choices were a washed up inept Senator with no platform vs another professional politician with some platform. I did not want Obama but it was a hell of a lot better then a trigger happy McCain. And don’t forget, Obama won by almost 10 million votes, that is a landslide, not just a win. That tells me there were a lot more than liberals voting.

Keep listening to Beck and Hannity and you’ll soon find yourself out of any country at all. This government is not bankrupting the country, that was already done. You just woke up late for supper.

  18. OC Liberal says:

Bronco, I really don’t know why you think anybody here is defending terrorists or illegals. Yes, most would probably defend Homosexuals, but that is for another day perhaps. What you don’t get is that the Constitution is not a document you change or interpret as your back in time philosophies desire. You are probably one of those near-sighted types who supports AZ Immigration law.

  19. Denny Smith says:

    Hold up here.
Bronco is my friend. Because of him, and his contemporaries, I make a small fortune skinning them alive in the markets 5 days a week (and then some if I find them in after-hours trading or Forex ((but I doubt they know that is) )
As Beck, Hannity, et al., have amply demonstrated, there’s a ton o’ profit to be made shakin’ down the rubes.
Bronco, I’m gonna’ support you everytime I see you.
Your role in life seems to be to make me financially secure.
I go to sleep every nite grateful that folks like you make it possible for folks like me to do exactly that.
    I thank you for it.

PS: I’ve opened two fringe conservative blog sites selling Confederate flags, bumper stickers, posters, big “I LOVE AMERICA” belt buckles, and all that shit, together with the “Donate” button. You wouldn’t believe how many rubes buy that chum.
If I can’t reason with y’all, hell, I’ll just bankrupt ya’ for the pleasure of it.
    Again, I thank you

It takes more than a bit of grade-school pottymouthing to upset us. Besides, everybody knows that nuts on the left are “moonbats”. Try to straighten up your derogatory terminology.

  22. Denny Smith says:
