A 78-year-old Carroll, Iowa woman says she’s so tired of seeing President Barack Obama on the airwaves that she’s selling her television sets – two of them.
Deloris Nissen, a retired nurses’ aide and former Kmart employee who was raised on a farm near Audubon, placed a classified advertisement with The Daily Times Herald for Friday’s paper.
In the $5.50 ad, Nissen tells readers she has two television sets for sale.
The reason: “Obama on every channel and station.”
In an interview Nissen said she is serious about selling two TVs – and genuine about her disgust with what she believes to be an overexposed president.
“I just got tired of watching him on every channel,” Nissen said. “I thought, my gosh, does he ever stay at the White House?”
See? What have I been saying these many months? Obama is driving conservatives to the brink of insanity.

Obama needs to better state his case and repitition always helps. He used the Internet strategically to get personal dollars and not corporate dollars. He is now using another information diffuser : TV. With the power of TV we are now just getting glimpses of who Obama is. Imagine how many times we will need to hear him about this new Health plan. After all is said and done, one will not ever be able to say that he didn’t use all his energy to help this nation. We only need to listen…..YES WE CAN
Mario, where do you get some of these things? Did it come across the AP wires? ;/ This is important stuff.
With 46 mil uninsured, 2 wars & recession, there is wall-to-wall coverage of a “beer summit”, and now this. It is a sad reflection of a sick, self-absorbed media.
Now, that being said, I’m sure this weirdo woman is using Obama as an excuse to ditch the two televisions and still has a new flat-screen at home. It seems to me that the Bush’s were always on the airwaves. How come she didn’t object then? Guess she doesn’t like looking at black people, and this gives her an excuse to spew her hate and get herself a little attention.
Yes, they are going raving mad, but it also scares the hell out of me. These people are insane and it makes me fear for Obama’s safety. So I take it back. It might seem trivial at first, as it did to me, but in all truth this really IS important stuff. Thank you.
Perhaps she’s not “stark raving mad”, “insane” or dangerous. Perhaps there is some basis for her aggravation with the over exposure and she just exhibited it in a satirical manner.
And I’m not sure of the exact numbers and can’t readily find them, but I think President Obama has already held more Nationally Televised Press Conferences than President Bush held during both his terms.
I’m not saying there is necessarily anything wrong with the over exposure, I’m just saying that it is understandable why one may become “fed up” with the saturation.
President Bush didn’t hold a lot of press conferences because his administration was very secretive and even when he did hold a press conference he came off as unintelligent and phrase careless and I suspect his handlers wanted to minimize that exposure.
Of course, by comparison President Obama’s press conferences would seem like a lot.
If one is ‘fed up’ with the ‘saturation’ turn off the TV or pick another channel. There are hundreds of cable channels, he’s not on everyone.
Well @Hank, Perhaps she IS “stark raving mad”, “insane” or dangerous. I checked, it IS all a stunt. That is normal? She is getting rid of two TV’s and has a new flat screen. That’s fine, but for her to use Obama merely as an excuse does not say much for her sanity. I will change that to say this woman is certifiably insane.
Again, I repeat, there are too many loony tunes out there. It scares the hell out of me.
It’s nice to finally have an intelligent, witty, articulate President after 8 long years of having someone with the IQ of a Orangutan. Why shouldn’t he use his oratory skills to keep the public informed?
Obama needs to send his message and a message is never all understood the first time around. Listen folks ! He is trying to explain health care reform. If you want to be informed, then listen ! How can you close the TV and understand anything ? He is going to radio,TV and to the moon if they will let him. You can’t say he didn’t try to get us on top of everything. Listen some more if you have to…. I concur SUPERMAN
Now, please put the world back on its axis, there’s been severe axis tipping caused by whacked behavior. Please see “Do Ideas Get Any Brighter than this”
I’m happy President Obama in out there giving press conferences and town hall meetings. He has to to make sure he’s understood and to counter-act the nastiness from the other side and the outright lies broadcast on tv and radio. I was commenting to Hank that if the woman is question is tired of the coverage she can turn the tv off.
Mea Culpa, I should have realized you already had “Do Ideas Get Any Brighter than this” under control, you are faster than a speeding bullet after all and my regular human eyes can’t track that!

As long as we’re all being respectful toward each other, I’m happy. The comment section of this blog belongs to all of you. I’m only here to trim the shrubbery and pull out weeds.
What do you mean by trimming the shrubbery and pull out weeds? Can you explain that in more detail? Sounds very threatening. Like a weed wacker!
If the comment section of the blog belongs to us then what are you saying here? Respect is what I have been trying to write about all night! Respect for dissenting voices without the name calling which rings in my ears and which I personally abhor. Also laughing at others and not their actions is also demeaning and sad. Why do we do this to each other? Do we feel superior to them? Do we feel better about ourselves by doing this? Does it empower us to do so? Why?

@Janine Orly Taitz has left the building, or the planet, or perhaps they deported her from her home planet and now we are stuck with her.
Now we better stay on topic or @Mario with throw Kryptonite at me, and I wouldn’t blame him.
