Anyone who read Paul Krugman’s NYT piece I wrote about in my last post, will not be surprised to hear that the conservative media is none too pleased.

Beck the Weasel says…
“…this isn’t about me. It’s not about Bill O’Reilly. This is about you. You — you’re crazy. You’re a conservative? Oh my — they’re watching you, aren’t they? Is that that black helicopter there?”
This is typical of the Beck/Hannity types who take their audiences to be simple fools. Krugman was not speaking about conservatives in general. His entire article was about the “conservative media and political establishment” where he writes,
“Politicians and media organizations wind up such people at their, and our, peril.”
By attempting to shift the focus of Krugman’s article from conmen like himself to Fox viewers, Beck does what he does best – lie, manipulate and distort. Typical behavior for a commentator on the Fox Cartoon News Channel.

“Beck: We don’t even understand freedom anymore. We are a country that is headed toward socialism, totalitarianism, beyond your wildest imagination.
I have to tell you, I am doing a story tonight, that I wanted to debunk these FEMA camps. I’m tired of hearing about them — you know about them? I’m tired of hearing about them. I wanted to debunk them.
We’ll we’ve now for several days been doing research on them — I can’t debunk them! And we’re going to carry the story tonight.
…It is our government — if you trust our government, it’s fine. If you have any kind of fear that we might be headed toward a totalitarian state, there is something going on in our country that it’s — it ain’t good.”

Yeah. He’s not into conspiracy stuff! He could write the book on conspiracy theories. Someone should market Beck Tin Foil Hats.
“Krugman was not speaking about conservatives in general.”
Piperni, how can you say that with a straight face. Krugman’s EXACT words:
“And at this point, whatever dividing line there was between mainstream conservatism and the black-helicopter crowd seems to have been virtually erased.”
Isn’t “mainstream conservatism” pretty much the exact same thing as “conservatives in general”?
No games. No manipulation. I leave that to the charlatans and impostors such as yourself. Krugman’s statement stands on its own. If you choose to mislead people, that is your business.
Or explain to me how “mainstream conservatism” and “conservatives in general” do not mean the same thing. You are just playing a game of semantics knowing the myrmidons that follow you won’t take the effort to think for themselves?
Go read the Krugman piece. If that doesn’t help you, then you’re out of luck. I really don’t have the time to teach you basic reading comprehension. Sorry.
“mainstream conservatism” = “conservatives in general”
That’s all I need to know to understand your objective. Are you so self absorbed you don’t think I have read Krugman’s garbage?
Krugman:
“Exhibit A for the mainstreaming of right-wing extremism”
Krugman is a left wing extremist, totally lacking credibility. He obviously has an axe to grind since O’Reilly punked him out. That you choose to align yourself with his lies, ignorance and stupidity, speaks volumes to your own credibility.
Go ahead. Try to teach your way out of the the corner you “taught” yourself into.
After weeks and weeks of building it up? Then he spends a few minutes saying… “maybe not”. Yeah. Great. Meanwhile, the internet is full of FEMA camp conspiracy stuff. Too little; too late.
Krugman is a left wing extremist? Idiotic statement. Krugman is a Nobel Prize winning economist who has criticized Obama repeatedly on economic matters. He is a liberal but is anything but an extremist.
Right on! perfect point. These guys forget what day in age we live in…The Information age! Gone are the days where you can blatantly lie and be an uncontested hypocrite. Good work!

Wow you are in such denial. People like you would refute that the sky is blue if it supported your cause and your incoherent and belligerent ideologies.
You couldn’t maintain an intelligent argument so you bring a stand up comic’s remarks to the table?! Liberals denounced Letterman’s remarks. If Republicans stand a chance at redemption, they need to rid themselves of all these eggheads in the party, including those at Fox
I feel the statements Krugman made qualify as extreme. That’s my oinion. You loons are now trying to brand all Conservative thought as “Radical Extremist” and he is taking the lead.
Typical loony logic. I’m not arguing at all. I’m just saying there is no difference. You get in such a snit about dumb remarks made about Barry or anything Barry. But when a Conservative, Republican wife, woman and mother AND her children are slandered in a repugnant way on National T.V., the most indignation you can muster up is “Wow, fellow loons. Look for Sarah Palin to really milk THIS one.” Several of you have even tried to condone it in a sideways manner.

Hmmmm….O’Reilly does everything but punch this weasel in the nose. Wonder if this coward, Krugman has an axe to grind?

Not sure what you are trying to imply mimi. But if it’s what I think it is, you should do better research.

Siiiggghhhhhh………….
Play your little games if you must. The entire premise of the article is about how the conservative media is playing a dangerous game.
Leave the political manipulation to your Fox friends and feel free to partake in honest discourse here. We won’t hold it against you. Promise.

And today we have DePass, a Republican activist in SC who, on facebook, compares Michelle O. to a gorilla.
That’s just not true mimi. Beck said all along he didn’t believe the FEMA Camps thing. Do some more research.
Is that anything like a slutty flight attendant? Or raping someone’s 14 year old daughter?
Besides that, he did not “compare” Michelle Obama to a Gorilla.
