Jon Stewart Rips Conservatives Over Terrorist Hypocrisy

This is all good but check out the O’Reilly comment at the 6:42 mark…

O’Reilly’s words…

‘One more terror attack…because there have been three on Obama’s watch in the first year. One more on our soil, you know, a major one where you get dead bodies…he is done.”

And what exactly is it that Republicans and conservatives want more than anything else?  To take over Congress and the White House? Absolutely.

Would a “few dead bodies” almost guarantee that for them?  Probably.

From my last post…

“…a successful act of terrorism on American soil is exactly what some on the right secretly hope for.  In their perverted order of priorities, it would guarantee them victory in 2012.”

1 + 1 = 2

The Christian Taliban

Birthers, teabaggers and the religious right are the conservative’s trifecta of bigotry, hatred and intolerance.

Amanda Simpson, who was named by President Obama to be senior technical adviser for the Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security, has worked in the field for over 30 years. But prominent figures on the religious right are claiming that she was picked only as part of some transsexual agenda.

“Is there going to be a transgender quota now in the Obama administration?” asked Peter LaBarbera, president of the anti-gay group Americans for Truth. “How far does this politics of gay and transgender activism go? Clearly this is an administration that is pandering to the gay lobby.”

Matt Barber, associate dean at Jerry Fallwell’s Liberty University, said the appointment “boggles the mind” and said that while African-Americans might deserve special treatment, transgender people don’t.

Kudos to the president on this one for doing what’s right and choosing the best qualified person regardless of their sexual orientation.  As for the religious right, their phony shtick has gotten tiresome.  These holier-than-thou bigots and purveyors of hate wield a bible like a bludgeon attempting to squash anyone who does not fit into their narrow interpretation of decency.

The only thing that “boggles the mind” here is trying to understand how delusional evangelicals still have the audacity to call themselves followers of a merciful Christ.

Rush Speaks, Republicans Bow

Posted by mario piperni On November - 5 - 2009

Rush Limbaugh - El Rushbo http://mariopiperni.com/

.

If you had any doubt that Rush Limbaugh is the Don of the Republican party, this might help.

October 16: Newt Gingrich.

“The special election for the 23rd Congressional District is an important test leading up to the mid-term 2010 elections.  Our best chance to put responsible and principled leaders in Washington starts here, with Dede Scozzafava.”

November 4: Rush Limbaugh on the Democratic win in NY-23.

“But, the right message; we cannot forget how this whole thing happened in the first place. There was not a primary. The right message here would indict the way party bosses, Republican Party bosses and these big thinkers like Newt screwed the whole thing up from the get go.”

November 4: Newt Gingrich.

“I think the nomination was a mistake. I wish that we had gotten involved earlier. And if we had, I would have done everything I could to make sure she had not been picked. And she clearly proved in the last few days that she [Dede Scozzafava] was in no way a loyal Republican.”

Gingrich becomes another repub willing to bow at the feet of Limbaugh as the fate of the Republican party rests largely in the hands of a pompous, lying, egoistic ‘entertainer’.

Kos tackles the hypocrisy of Karl Rove and Fox News.
.

Ok. It makes sense…except for this…

Rove bitches about the tactics of the current administration in regards to Fox but the administration in which he was a key player did the EXACT same thing.

Their hypocrisy has no bounds, really.

Lovin’ America – Sort Of…

Posted by mario piperni On October - 3 - 2009

You all know those wonderful tea party patriots, the ones with signs proclaiming a deep love of country and an equally deep hatred for the President.  Well here’s a clip of a group from Americans For Prosperity, one of the key organizers for those tea party fun-fests, reacting after hearing that Chicago lost their bid to host the 2016 Olympic games.
.

.
Those are “Americans” cheering that America lost.  Need you know more about the true intent of these people?

On Praising Presidents

Posted by mario piperni On September - 27 - 2009

An over-exuberant school teacher in New Jersey had her class of 8 year old students sing songs of praise for President Obama.  All of this happened last February during Black History Month.

Here’s the tape.
.

.
As is typical with anything concerning the president these days, the conservative media went nuts when the above tape came out last week.  They claimed the school was trying to indoctrinate the children. The school was temporarily in lock down when the principle began receiving death threats. Sigh.

My belief is that the teacher was wrong in having her students praise anyone, president or otherwise. It is not a teacher’s duty to impart her political beliefs on a bunch of 8 year olds.  As for the overreaction from the right, it’s just typical of their hypocrisy.

I give you this.

The Pathetic Presidency Of George W. Bush

Posted by mario piperni On September - 13 - 2009

george bush - Failure - http://mariopiperni.com/

.

Is anyone surprised by this?

Thursday’s annual Census Bureau report on income, poverty and access to health care-the Bureau’s principal report card on the well-being of average Americans-closes the books on the economic record of George W. Bush.

It’s not a record many Republicans are likely to point to with pride. On every major measurement, the Census Bureau report shows that the country lost ground during Bush’s two terms. While Bush was in office, the median household income declined, poverty increased, childhood poverty increased even more, and the number of Americans without health insurance spiked. By contrast, the country’s condition improved on each of those measures during Bill Clinton’s two terms, often substantially.

The Census’ final report card on Bush’s record presents an intriguing backdrop to today’s economic debate. Bush built his economic strategy around tax cuts, passing large reductions both in 2001 and 2003. Congressional Republicans are insisting that a similar agenda focused on tax cuts offers better prospects of reviving the economy than President Obama’s combination of some tax cuts with heavy government spending. But the bleak economic results from Bush’s two terms, tarnish, to put it mildly, the idea that tax cuts represent an economic silver bullet.

Dismissing criticism of the current president by asking, “What about Bush?” serves no purpose…except this: where the hell were these tea party crazies for the last 8 years?  Why was it fine for President Bush to destroy the economy, start a phony war, make a mockery of the Constitution, grow big government, double the national debt by adding $5 trillion to it, use the Justice department for partisan purposes and more?

How do these yelling, hypocritical puppets (strings being pulled by Fox and the rest of the conservative media) expect the rest of the country to take them seriously when they sat there for 8 years without saying a word while the man they voted into office twice took the country to the brink of ruin?

Glenn Beck’s Chickens Come Home to Roost

Glenn Beck - Liar

Nice to know that craziness has it’s limits.

Eight more Glenn Beck advertisers, including Wal-Mart — the world’s largest retailer — have confirmed to ColorOfChange.org that they pulled their ads from the controversial Fox News Channel broadcaster’s eponymous show. Allergan (maker of Restasis), Ally Bank (a unit of GMAC Financial Services), Best Buy, Broadview Security, CVS, Re-Bath, Travelocity and Wal-Mart join the dozen other companies who previously distanced themselves from Beck.

Twenty companies have pulled their ads from Beck’s show in just the last two weeks. The moves come after the Fox News host called President Obama a “racist” who “has a deep-seated hatred for white people” during an appearance on Fox & Friends. Previous companies who pulled their ads include ConAgra, GEICO, Lawyers.com, Men’s Wearhouse, Procter & Gamble, Progressive Insurance, RadioShack, Roche, SC Johnson, Sanofi-Aventis, Sargento, and State Farm Insurance.

Not to be outdone, radical conservative Redstate came out with this:

This left wing campaign is being orchestrated by a group started by Obama’s Green Jobs Czar, Van Jones.  If they are successful, they will move beyond Beck to others.  Two of the companies, GEICO and Progressive, are run by liberals. But that’s not the case with all the others.

The best response is to remind all of these companies that there will be repercussions from our side if they are so willing to become pawns of the left.

Interesting how conservatives believe in a free market and freedom of speech as long as the free marketers play by their rules.  When they don’t, they’re “pawns of the left.”

Lou Dobb’s Doublespeak

Posted by mario piperni On July - 29 - 2009

Lou Dobbs http://mariopiperni.com/

.

There was a time when I had no feelings one way or another for Lou Dobbs but over the last while I’ve come to the conclusion he really is a dick.

“And tea-bagging queen Rachel Maddow over at MSNBC, she wanted another shot so apparently she twisted, she tried to twist my words. She ignored my statements on the issue.”

Dobbs was upset with Maddow for calling him a birther.  He thought that by using his brand of doublespeak he could get away with it.  The only thing which separates Dobbs from the crazies with signs is that, unlike them, he gets to wear a suit and tie and work for a respectable news network.

Hey Dobbs, you are a birther.  Your Obama rants have been getting louder of late and it’s become way too obvious that if you could keep your job while wearing a t-shirt on air which read ‘Obama is a F*****g Muslim Socialist N****r‘, you would.

Someone please find a slot for Lou on Fox where his half-truths, fear-mongering and xenophobic tendencies would fit right in beside Sean, Glenn and Bill.

The Same Tired Lies From A Decadent Republican Party

Posted by mario piperni On July - 20 - 2009

healthcarewall

.

How do Republicans live with themselves? Nothing points out their hypocrisy more than the health care debate.  RNC chairman Michael Steele in a speech he’ll give today…

“Obama-Pelosi want to start building a colossal, closed health care system where Washington decides. Republicans want and support an open health care system where patients and doctors make the decisions.”

The problem here is not one of opposing President Obama’s health care plan.  It’s doing it on the basis of the same lies they’ve been using since Clinton tried his reform.  Statements like “closed health care system” are ridiculous.  The president has made it clear that his plan will offer a public plan in addition to keeping the private plan in place.

Also, making the repeated claim that under the current system “patients and doctors make the decisions” is a blatant lie.  It’s the health insurers who have the final say. They know it but hey, repeat the same lie enough times and some fool will believe it.

Again…having valid arguments in opposition to any reform is fine and welcome. But to spout outright lies as Republicans and some Democrats are doing is totally unacceptable regardless of the issue at hand but even more so when it comes to health care.  While these buffoons bow to the health industry’s lobbyists and repeat their tired talking points, people suffer.

In response, Obama is planning a full out assault this week in laying out his plan.

With skepticism about the president’s health-care reform effort mounting on Capitol Hill — even within his own party — the White House has launched a new phase of its strategy designed to dramatically increase public pressure on Congress: all Obama, all the time.

Healthy debate and honest attempts at fixing a broken system is a good thing.  Proposing amendments which would strengthen the proposed plan is also a good thing.  Endlessly and knowingly repeating lies is sinful.
