Money & Health Care

An interesting and revealing dialogue between William Shatner and Rush Limbaugh…
.

.
This explains it all.

Shatner: If you have money, you’re going to get health care. If you don’t have money, it’s more difficult.

Limbaugh: If you have money you’re going to get a house on the beach. If you don’t have money you’re going to live in a bungalow somewhere — that’s — that’s…

Shatner: Right, but we’re talking about health care.

Limbaugh: What’s the difference?

Shatner: The difference is we’re talking about health care.

Limbaugh: No…

Shatner: Not a house or a bungalow.

Limbaugh: You’re assuming that there’s some morally superior aspect to health care than there is to a house or a bungalow.

If there is no morally superior aspect to health care than there is to owning a house on the beach, then what is the point of discussing this issue with conservatives?  If health care comes down to how much money one has, then there is little surprise that these people have been holding up reform for 50 years.  It is the equivalent of attempting to have a conversation with someone who speaks an entirely different language.

We seldom hear conservatives being so openly honest about their true thoughts on why they oppose the things they do.  We can thank Limbaugh the egoist for the honesty.

I’d be interested in seeing the whole interview before making comment. I am a big proponent of NOT taking things out of context.

Limbaugh, whether right or wrong, making sense or making NO sense, is just beginning to explain when the video ends.

  2. Anomaly100 says:

So there are some good Conservatives after all! Obviously, I’m not referring to the windbag. I can continue to watch Star Trek reruns without guilt. Whew!

  3. Frances says:

Well, I think the better question is “What is the point of discussing this issue with Rush Limbaugh?” On second thoughts, add the insurance industry to the list. They both seem to view human health as a commodity. Which is troubling.

  4. That Rush cannot see the difference between access to health and access to property demonstrates a complete lack of empathy for those who are born ill or develop conditions due for what are as yet unpreventable causes. His mindset is a pure survival of the fittest approach with which you cannot reason. He is quite happy to see suffering as long as the consequence is that no money comes out of his pocket.

  5. MARYKAY says:

I DONT LIKE RUSH I THINK HE IS JUST AN IGNORANT RICH MAN WHO TALKS ALOT OF GARBAGE ,VERBAL SEWAGE,.I FEEL HE IS A RACIST,HE DOESNT CARE ABOUT PEOPLE,FOR HIM TO SAY HE KNOWS ABOUT EVERYTHING IT JUST SHOWS MORE OF HIS BIG EGO AND THE LOVE HE HAS FOR HIMSELF AND HIS OPINIONS,I WATCH ALOT OF NEWS MOST OF THE TIME I LIKE TO KEEP UP WITH CURRENT,DAILY HAPPENINGS,BUT I DO NOT WATCH FOX.SO I KNOW WHAT GOES ON WHAT HE SAYS .AND WHAT HES LIKE.I OFTEN WONDER WHY SOMEONE WOULD PAY A COLD HEARTED MORON LIKE THIS MAN SO MUCH MONEY TO BRING RACISM,HATE,FEAR MONGERING,IGNORANCE,LIES,HIS IDEAS AND HIS OPININS ARE JUST THAT BUT WHY IS IT SO IMPORTANT WHAT THIS MAN SAYS TO THE IDIOTS ON THR FAR RIGHT AND THE GOP.WHY DO THEY WALLOW IN FEAR IF THEY PISS HIM OFF OR WHY DOES MICHAEL STEELE APOLIGIZE TO HIM IF SOMEONE IN THE GOP STEPS ON HIS TOES? BUT IN MY MIND ALL RUSH KNOWS IS IGNORANCE,AND I DO NOT CARE FOR IT OR HIM.
